There is a point of contention, how far do christians go for their religion? There have been many who have killed, maimed, etc. in the name of christianity as well.

I openly mock any and all religions, even Jainism sometimes, goofy pacifists that they are. But when one group says "these ones should be mocked" then get all whiny when they are mocked as well, it makes it difficult to care which is which. Freedom of speech is the only real freedom we have in the US, thanks to christians, so meh. Death versus no freedom, not sure there's any difference.

Actually, I'm a conservative, unlike you I prefer less government. I don't hate Canada or Mexico at all, so, I don't hate America. But I am displeased with the US sacrificing basic liberties for lame reasons and baseless assertions, such as forcing christianity on to people just because "it's the west's religion." Actually, the religion is a Roman religion, FYI.
