Why yes! and not any blind idiocy so there should be no WOW about it. And your correct, it's worldwide, happened to pick up mine on the streets of Chicago and south of 8 mile. Both places filled with garabge.

I also suggest you look up the psychological use of the term "deflection". It is not the same as the "deflection" in physics. You have used it several times on this thread totally incorrectly. It's actually pretty amusing in a sorry sort of way.
Nice try though.
Call it what you want it still means you are a loser who must resort to any means possible to avoid to answer a point in a debate. LOSER.

As the racist-bigots here so eloquently (snort) prove, the "animals" and "sub-humans" come in every color and from every corner of the world.

It's not the color of the skin, but what's in the heart and mind. Are there violent, racist, ignorant blacks? Yes! There are also violent, racist, ignorant whites, asians, hispanics, you-name-it. You racist, bigot cretins and keyboard warriors come in every race, nationality, size, and economic class. This part of the thread is proof.

You ignorant, hateful people make Darwin weep in his grave that your genes might get passed on. Do the human race a favor, and refrain from breeding. The world is chock-full of hate-filled mouth-breathers already.

I'm simply intelligent enough to know that you judge each individual person on the content of their character, not their skin color, nationality, nor economic class. Or by what letter is in parenthesis beside their name.

Nuclear arms in the US ARE civilian controlled, sluice bucket. Nuclear reactors are privately owned. Private companies possess nuclear arms because it is private companies that design, build, maintain and dismantle nuclear arms, by stock in a company that makes a-bombs and you become part owner of all the a-bombs that company possesses and makes.

You could probably be permitted to possess such an arm if you could prove that you had the money to secure it from criminal use, the property necessary to keep it from harming neighbors, the technical assets to keep it from inadvertently detonating.

People who expect to have to defend their country need assault weapons. Not criminals, who want to commit crimes, not crazy paranoid people who think that anyone including the local police or Federal Government that will not let them do what ever they want to do is oppressing them. The issue is not whether we have too many weapons in the hands of mentally defective people...we do! The issue is not whether or not we can collect those weapons and melt them down...we cannot. The issue is how do we make ourselves and our children safer from the crazies, with the guns. Do we all arm up to the max? Or do we find ways to make the average person less well armed?
31 years in the military has taught me that; you first establish well defended positions,(in this case schools and other public places), then you reduce the opposition's (in this case crazy people), ability to conduct offensive action. It is just too easy to enter a kinder-garden with a gun and start shooting. At one time, it was just as easy to enter the cockpit of an in-flight commercial airliner...but we learned that we need to be able to stop that sort of attack the hard way. We always have to learn everything the hard way, even when it is pretty obvious from the start.
1. Secure our schools with solid cockpit type doors and a trained Police Officer on the other side and movie theaters, malls and other public places with armed Police Officers on patrol, because that's what Cops are for. 2. screen people who want to legally purchase a firearm with the same tests that is currently being given to people who want a certain level of security clearance to hold specific types of jobs, because that's what those kinds of tests were designed for and we are already using them.
The Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) is one of the most frequently used personality tests in mental health. The test is used by trained professionals to assist in identifying personality structure and psychopathology. Among its many uses, it is perhaps best known as the personality test that is used in conjunction with Secret and Top Secret security clearances required for many positions within United States federal agencies that incur an extensive responsibility for life and property, such as the Department of Defense, Central Intelligence Agency, and the Federal Aviation Administration.
3. Require EVERYONE who wants to buy a firearm from anyone,(private person or gun dealer)to pass a criminal background check as well as produce a certification of a physiological examination
4. Require everyone who owns a firearm to have it secured in a gun safe (specifically designed to secure firearms) when they are not in physical possession of the firearm, with no legal authorization to let anyone else have possession of the firearm. Sort of like the rule for people who legally own suppressors (aka silencers).
Now you have Cops in the schools and Malls and movie theaters instead of standing in the street holding back traffic so companies can empty their parking lots each end of work day. You have people being checked for criminal history before they can buy a gun from a private owner or at a gun show, you have people needing a certification of mental stability (or at least some qualified professional willing to say in writing that they could not find anything indicating that the person expressed dangerous thought or feelings when interviewed) and you have guns not being loaned to or left available to mentally challenged people.
This will get us past the emotion and politics and cover some of the big holes in the short term and over time fewer and fewer crazy people and criminals will be in possession of firearms and we will all be that much safer.

See how well the idea works, at the very suggestion of giving an exam that some of us in the military have had to take and we see indication of why some people would not like to have to take it. It will expose the crazies and make the rest of society safer.

And you could pay for this "trained police officer" in every school with the tax you put on ammo, and hand guns and other firearms to cover the estimated $6 Billion cost.

Of course, if you were "trained" for 31 years and couldn't figure out how to get past one person with a hand gun sitting on a stool behind a locked door, you didn't go very far.

In the band, eh?

I read about police officers who shoot their wives (and sometimes their families) and then hole up and wait for the colleagues to show up and fire a few rounds and then shoot themselves.

It happened twice in the last month that I am aware of (so it may be more often than that).

Police officers.

I think you might start with the supposition that if you think you need to have a weapon, you are already a little off.

Putting the people who use them for hunting aside.

And then you are stuck with the neighborhood of 100 million that have firearms already.

But if you want to put up a petition requiring background checks complete with psychiatric evaluation for the sales of all guns or transfers, I'll sign it.
