How exactly is that power granted to the federal government by our constitution? I in no way support the succession of any state. However, our government needs to follow the rules laid out by the founders of this nation.
It could easily by argued the federal response to southern succession was unconstitutional. Did you realize the constitution is about powers granted to the federal government by the states?
Over time the federal government has increased itsí authority without permission from the states. That permission can only be granted in the form of a constitutional amendment. The single most brilliant move by the federal government to increase power over the states was the creation of the Federal Reserve.
yeah, president lincoln broke the law/constitution. What was he supposed to do? The union was on the right side of justice but the wrong side of the southern states right to secede. And the fed was established to keep the private sector from continuously ruining the economy. Definitely corrupt now. But big business is IMHO more corruptible than big government. Neither are good for us.
