Will the Bush whiners please shut up!

Immigrant Surge Rooted in Law to Curb Child Trafficking

George W. Bush, a measure that passed without controversy, along with a pension bill and another one calling for national parks to be commemorated on quarters.

“This is a piece of legislation we’re very proud to sign,” a White House spokesman, Tony Fratto, told reporters on Dec. 23, 2008, as the president put his pen to the William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008, named for a 19th-century British abolitionist.“This program has been very effective around the world in trying to stop trafficking in persons.”

Now the legislation, enacted quietly during the transition to the Obama administration, is at the root of the potentially calamitous flow of unaccompanied minors to the nation’s southern border.

Representatives Robert W. Goodlatte, left, of Virginia and Darrell Issa of California, both Republicans, on Thursday. They were among the lawmakers on a tour of the South Texas border.Amid Influx of Migrants, Obama Is to Skip Border Visit on Texas Trip JULY 3, 2014

Originally pushed by a bipartisan coalition of lawmakers as well as by evangelical groups to combat sex trafficking, the bill gave substantial new protections to children entering the country alone who were not from Mexico or Canada by prohibiting them from being quickly sent back to their country of origin.

No matter what is done, it will not happen without money.

Congress needs to give up all of their perks and creature comforts, do their job and cough up some dough to fix this problem.

But instead, they prefer to blame each other and go back and rehash ancient history while everything falls apart.

Nice job Congress, you could not look any worse.

WHY has ohbama not been impeached yet? This president continues to poke fun about serious issues all around the country. Lets blame everybody else but ohbama. True black ideology, "it wasn't me" or "I didn't do it". And it is already OLD.
This WORTHLESS IDIOT for a president has got to go. He hasn't been in charge of anything. With a worthless leader like this you might as well get Mickey Mouse to run America.
ohbama is hell bent on destroying America with his proven black, muslim, chicago, illegal alien leadership. America is a push over to the rest of the World and they know it.
Our Gov't is NOT held accountable for anything either. You have an a-hole ag running around making his own laws and people are getting killed.
When will all this chaos stop? When you get rid of ohbama!

Re: William Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2008,
If this bill is modified to allow deportation, without the order of an immigration judge, for those already in custody it might well violate Article 1 Section 9 clause 3 of the US Constitution. Still, the law should be amended, at lest it can reduce the time to a decision for future unaccompanied children not from Mexico of Canada.

You are partly correct.. Obama has a responsibility to manage the flow of immigrants...
This is not a question of an overflow of immigrants...They arent actually immigirants until they are processed by INS.. This is a tsunami of aspiring ilagal immigrants. You really think Obama was busy knocking on doors in El Salvador telling the father...."Sure amigo... Drop off the kids we'll watch them for free"

A bill in Congress to treat the 'Crisis'. Not bad for Congress and much better that what we have now! If you like it tell your Congressman. Read the article at:
http://www.politico.com/story/2014/07/immigra...
Given 'politics' and the upcoming mid-term election it is not likely to become law, after all neither side could could really call it a 'win'. But for the USA it is better than the status quo ...

Take a look at the picture above. This is the kids that you republicans are demonizing! These by your actions and comments is your enemy. It is funny that you bible, self proclaiming god fearing individuals can be so heartless and cruel!
Honestly ask yourself if this little girl pictured in an overcrowding detention center wanted to be here. She would have rather be with her family. Who wouldn't? Do you have any idea how hard it is to see your little child leave on such a massive journey not knowing the outcome. The dangers faced with every step. To leave your parents and possible never seeing them again? The only other choice is to stay there and face death sooner rather than later. This is not immigration. This is a humanitarian crisis. This is about children. The world is watching how America as a leader handles this and the republicans seem to not see this.
A child like this is not coming to America because of an executive action by the president. They are coming here because their life is being threatened. They feel they have no options left, they are desperate. Please remember that we only have one life to live. Just one, no do overs.
They just want to live, as safely as they hope they can. Doesn't everyone?
These children cannot take care of themselves and vilifying them does not help. Does it make you feel better at night? Do you feel good beating your chest while proclaiming death to these individuals? It hurts to see the people we elected to govern use these kids for political gains and even worse when the republicans pull crap out of the air to rile up the base. The other side is just as bad but the republicans just seem to shout the loudest and can't take their foot out of their mouth.
I would rather my hard earned tax dollars go to feed these poor kids or to clothes them or anyone that desperately needs them rather than to see it go to waste paying for that piss arse lawsuit stunt the republicans are trying pull. Just looking busy doesn't mean you are doing something. STOP DOING NOTHING CONGRESS!!!!!

To you all that call these kids diseased and spit on them while supporting a party that will do nothing for this country and only pander to their bullshit, I truly hope you don't have kids of your own. If you love your kids you wouldn't look at these and spit that crap that comes out day after day.

Be honest Rusty...the current mass of refugee & immigrants caught everyone by surprise.
The reasons for their coming are many. Economics of third world countries, local politics in central American hell holes...family reasons most likely top the list... With record deportation it is most likely not due to a feeling that they have nothing to fear from INS...

The question is not why are they here, the question is why do we ignore illegal immigration. Yes, in this case, there is a law for these children but it was meant to slow down deportation, not eliminate it.

The answer is the USA has a large 'ethnic' minority that identifies with the immigrants. Both political parties (let's exclude the Tea Party on this issue) would like to get the support of the group to get or hold political power. As important is the real power in the USA, business. Business likes the profits based on the spending of the group. You can't blame them for that ...

Yea, I know you don't like the answer because it doesn't directly support the hate of Obama, but it does tap the dynamic of political decisions.
