Is the U.S. Ready for a Mormon President?

There are 4552 comments on the www.nydailynews.com story from Jan 12, 2012, titled Is the U.S. Ready for a Mormon President?. In it, www.nydailynews.com reports that:

Politics Staff Story

Many Mormons don't think so. Just 56% believe Americans are ready to elect a Mormon President, according to a new Pew Research Center survey.

The New York Daily News reports that

Some conservative Christians don't consider Mormons to be Christian at all, and there's plenty of often-unvoiced hostility toward Mormonism among some Christian sects.

GOP front-runner Mitt Romney may be a stricter Mormon than many of his co-religionists, The Huffington Post reports.

Romney...drinks neither coffee nor tea. And his wife, according to Mormon tradition, keeps months' worth of food storage for emergencies.

Weigh in: Is America ready for a Mormon president? Do you care about the president's religious beliefs?

We can't go back to corporate foodstamps (bailouts), these commercial bankers have caused a recession on taxpayer and union backs, now its time for them to stop the bubbles they've created

The "bubbles" were created by the investment demands forced upon investment firms by the Clinton Administration...you know, the Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac "bundles" in which were hiding the so-called "equal opportunity" loans made to low income borrowers. In some cases even welfare receipients. Only then did the bankers begin to do stupid things...in order to protect their "government backed" investments. The whole thing turned into a ponzi scheme.

In the first two years of his admin Clinton had full control of government. The Republicans took control of Congress two years into Clinton's first term. And, even after that, Clinton was smart enough to work with the Congress and reach compromises.

Clinton was lucky enough to have a Congress willing to compromise. During Obama's first two years in office he managed to get more than done than any president in recent history...."Health care reform. The takeover and turnaround of the auto industry. The biggest economic stimulus in history. Sweeping new regulations of Wall Street. A tough new set of consumer protections on the credit card industry. A vast expansion of national service. Net neutrality. The greatest increase in wilderness protection in fifteen years. A revolutionary reform to student aid. Signing the New START treaty with Russia. The ending of “don’t ask, don’t tell." (Washington Monthly). Then came the uncompromising Congress....Republicans who signed a pledge not to compromise. They are the ones who need to go...not Obama.

The things that Barack Husssein Obama is most interested in are not relavent to the interest of all Americans. The economy has suffered greatly because of this. He has driven up the national debt more than any president before him. The Liberal, Progressive agenda is to retain power even if the country as a whole suffers.
IMHO, Barack Husssein Obama is the most divisive president ever to sit in the Oval Office. He is a liberal, progressive, racist who will choose idealogy above all else.

“But it does reflect the story I just told because it reflects a person that has studied political theory and ideology. I have a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s degrees in political science, political theory, political ideology. And the thing is you have to be able to understand the two competing principles of philosophies of governance in this country. You know, when I go out and talk to people,[asking]“What is America?” And when people respond “America is a democracy,” that lets me know they don’t understand what America is. America is a constitutional republic.

When you go back and you read the documents — the Declaration of Independence, the full declaration, the full Constitution — you’ll understand limited government, you’ll understand fiscal responsibility, you’ll understand individual sovereignty, free markets, traditional cultural values, strong national defense.

But there are people on the other side, and you can call them whatever you wish, you can call it Communism, Progressivism, Socialism, Marxism, or Statism They more so believe in government control They more so believe in nationalizing of production. They believe in creating and expanding an entitlement or welfare state. And you can’t tell me that you’re not seeing that in the United States of America right now.”

Why are you directing this to me? It is exactly what I believe. I understand what our nation "is." I also understand what it "isn't."
While you are educating me, please tell me this:
What does a person who has a Bachelor’s degree and two Master’s degrees in political science, political theory, political ideology
have to offer a country like The United States of America? Are we not a nation in need of managers and workers? Would this person be better prepared to serve our nation if he was an engineer, a scientist, an educator, a doctor, etc. Or, even go to a technical institute and learn to be an electrician, a welder, a carpenter, a plumber, a mechanic, etc.? By the way, who actually pays people with idealogical degrees? And why, what do they do to earn their pay? Oh yeah, I remember now, they sit around and argue about what this sentence and that word actually means...and then tell the rest of us how dumb we are because we really believe in this nation and things like honor and ethics. Oh hell, that's enough.

Is the U.S. Ready for a Mormon President?

Sure it is. After experiencing a Marxist Affirmative Action Racist Kenyan Snake for the last 4 years, even Castro, Putin or Harry Reid would look better.

I saw the quotations. I assumed that it was a quote from him. But, it was not clear why you posted it that way. I seemed to me that you were trying to educate me about our country and how I should feel about it. Now you know that I am not a great fan of fancy named degrees that were probably paid for by someone else for a person who will spend his career producing nothing but words and opinions.

For his service, he is much respected and we owe him thanks. So far he has shown his desire to protect our nation's values that have served us well for so long. But, having paid for this education, what can we expect in return for the investment? If he will stand toe to toe with Liberals and fight for what is right we may get an ROI. But, when he leaves office, what else can he do? I do, however, think he would be a 10 times better president than Barack Husssein Obama.
