You know what's ironic? I don't care if you're an atheist. You have your own beliefs or lack there of and I have mine. But the funny thing is, what does it hurt me to believe in God if I'm wrong? Nothing at all. But if you as an atheist don't believe and are wrong and there is a God, well... doesn't look too good for you.

See what non Christian leaders of the 20th century have accomplished?
And how exactly did atheism guide them in their decision? Please, I would like to know, cause best I can tell, is they did this out of their own personal ideologies, not a disbelief in a deity.

You know what is ironic is that god huggers use their religion to discriminate against others and excuse their actions under their god tent.

Also non-god huggers like to think for themselves.

There are "god huggers" that use the bible to beat people over the head with, unfortunately I know a couple. The majority I know practice love first before anything.

Because the aethestic leaders were worried about Christianity taking away their power. Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Mohammed, Kim were all afraid of Christianity exposing their weakness to the people.

yes. like most simple minded followers, your "faith" is just you hedging your bet.

i have repeatedly stated i do not care what you do in you personal life or in your tax subsidized place of worship..

when you drag your ridiculous religious cult into the real world, like this story we are commenting on..., then it does affect me. we live in a modern, rational world, there is no place for proven false myths here, especially ones as morally repugnant as your cult's, as i have pointed out time and time again...

the fact that you would in any way support such an ugly, immoral cult says volumes about your own character, or lack thereof...

not just christianity...any cult. those dictators knew how they kept power...they knew the poser of another cult to take it away from them...

When you say something like that the burden of proof shifts from the bible thumper to the accuser.

Good luck trying to prove the non-existance of a deity.

when the bible was written. when people climbed up mount olympus and sow that there wer no gods living there. when we found there was no great turtle holding up the earth.

would you like me to go on?

i very clearly stated that specific gods have been proven to be false. you are correct that it would be impossible to prove there is no god at all anywhere, just as it would be impossible to prove there is no Flying Spaghetti Monster anywhere (RAmen...)

as to date, there is not even one teensy shred of evidence that any god, gods or goddesses have ever existed or exist now. when that first shred of evidence is found, then a rational discussion of this topic can commence. until then it is like talking about the easter bunny as fact...

But the very nature of a all-powerful deity makes any form of experiment to reveal edvidance of said deity an impossiblity.

Don't get me wrong, I am an atheist but to make the claim that you are suggesting is rather bold to say the least.

Consider that which you dismissed. Let's call it the deity theory.

The suggested being or beings in question would have the power to manipulate space, time. enegry, and matter at will, creating or destorying as it pleases. knows all thoughts and sees all things.

We can gather from writings that this being or beings can influance what a single person to a whole group of people experince in all 5 senses. Creating visions that only one or more people can see.

Given the the nature of this fabled being or beings, what scientific process can be created that would gather the evidance nessary to prove or disprove it's existance or existances that wouldn't be able to be influance and corrupt to keep it's self hidden?

Even the purposed debunking of religous text can be attributed to human error, ignorance or errorous correction. Much like a game of telephone can change the original message from the first person told to the last person to utter it.

This is the reason that no one in a formal debate or in science has ever utter the words "there is no deity" or "there is a deity" with evidance either way.

Don't get me wrong, we are on the same boat, Just when you say something as absolute as "proven false" the burden of proof is now yours.

Now back to beaten on bible thumpers.

but we know for a fact that what this god said didn't happen. your points are valid yet they do not apply here..

an infallible god cannot make the mistakes this one did..

the burden of proof is on me, and i fullfilled it.
