Jefferson owned 600 slaves in his life.

He freed seven - most after he died.

SEVEN.

That's as many as you have toes on one foot, LyingC*t74.

It was Christians from England that ran the slave trade for three hundred years.

And there was still slavery in the United Kingdom long after it ended in the USA.

And you don't have the foggiest notion where Obama's ancestors were five hundred years ago, putting aside half of them were white Europeans.

Black Africans were responsible for American slavery

SOME Protestants were abolitionists.
Of course, many more Christians were slave owners than abolitionists.
Being a slave owner usually meant you were upper-class like Al Gore's family. Anybody could be a member of the Abolitionis Movement and it follows that there were many more Abolitionist then slave-owners.

No... it didn't.

Most people owned one or two slaves.

So you don't know anything about American history, either?

Only when you don't have facts and you make things up.

If there was a majority support behind the abolitionist movement, then slavery would have been voted out.

Very simple.

It wasn't voted out: Lincoln did it by proclamation.

I know that the British/US Territories had a very small percentage of the slaves arriving in the Americas during the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade---around 5%, and that was done mostly by the British.

When the US became a nation, they outlawed the importation of slaves less than 18 years after the ratification of the US Constitution.

http://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/us...

"A senator from Vermont first introduced a bill to ban the importation of slaves in late 1805, and President Thomas Jefferson recommended the same course of action in his annual address to Congress a year later, in December 1806."

"The law was finally passed by both houses of Congress on March 2, 1807, and Jefferson signed it into law on March 3, 1807. However, given the restriction imposed by Article I, Section 9 of the Constitution, the law would only become effective on January 1, 1808."
==========
Yes, slavery did continue within the US, but with the inception of the Republican Party and a strong Abolitionist Movement, slavery was overcome.

You don't say?

"they" did, did "they"?

Slavery continued in the US even after the Civil War.

Wipe your chin, dear.

Right, Thomas Jefferson was a firm believer in setting slaves free... other people's slaves. Though he owned 600 humans over his lifetime, he let two "escape" and set a total of five free AFTER he died.

And the rest were sold in accordance to his will.

Repeating a lie doesn't make it true.

Lincoln had no intention of setting slaves free when he took office.

He freed the slaves as a backfire- to try to disrupt the South.

And when you shop at Walmart you are buying items that are made with SLAVE LABOR. Yes, slavery was a blot on the US, but SLAVERY has been around for Thousands of years before there was a United States.

And Obama certainly hasn't addressed the issue of black-Africans being Persecuted in Muslim Countries of North Africa. Especially poignant because of the SLAVE History of Kenya and the LUO tribe.

And, he certainly made matters FAR WORSE by his assasination of Omar Ghaddafi.

Nope.

A lie told often enough becomes the truth.

You voted for Obama, so I don't think you have any moral grounds to talk about slavery.

http://humanrightsinvestigations.org/2011/07/...

"Other evidence of the massacres of black people, which include the lynchings and murder of black soldiers of the Libyan army, guest workers from other African countries and dark-skinned Libyan civilians include a report from the BBC on 25 February which cited a Turkish construction worker as saying:"

“We had 70-80 people from Chad working for our company. They were cut dead with pruning shears and axes, attackers saying:‘You are providing troops for Gaddafi.’ The Sudanese were also massacred. We saw it for ourselves.”

http://www.uruknet.de/...

"Watch this linked video of an anti-Black lynch mob and you will understand why The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, the BBC and other major news organizations have never followed up on The Wall Street Journal's June 21 article about ethnic cleansing of Black Libyans in Misurata by the "Brigade for the purging of slaves, Black Skin."
