Yes it is.

There was never a better chance for peace; France wrecked it like a child having a tantrum.

You're almost right. More like, there was never a chance for peace. Of course, as your two countries have established diplomatic relations, one can see where your sympathies lay. Neville Chamberlain demonstrated that kind of thinking. Good for France. Shame on you.

Neville Chamberlain was right: one must always try for peace.
There are already enough warmongers as it is.

Also, as far as I can remember, Iran never did anything against Britain.
So why should we treat them as enemies?

So, your short term memory problem doesn't recall how they took British sailors out of International waters and bargained for their release? Only a few years ago. Were you still in grammar school?

That was a small incident, and the Brits weren't even operating in their country. Nobody got hurt, and maybe it taught us to stay away from national waters.
That doesn't warrant hostility and resentment against Iran, which really hasn't done much to Britain.

The most they did was to nationalise the oil fields under Mossadegh in the 50s, but eh, it was their oil after all!

As far as you can remember? I agree that 6 years is a long time, especially if you were in pre-school or incarcerated. Let me help you. Again, shame on you for picking on the French.

>Iranian military personnel seized 15 Royal Navy personnel during 2007 and held them for 13 days. On 23 March 2007, 15 British Royal Navy personnel, from HMS Cornwall, searching a merchant vessel were surrounded by the Navy of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and subsequently detained off the Iran-Iraq coast. In the course of events, the British forces claimed that the vessel was in Iraqi waters, but the Iranian side insisted that they were in Iran's territorial waters. The 15 personnel were released on 4 April 2007<

Maybe, maybe not...

So what?

Plenty of countries have nuclear weapons?

Do you have the same fear about Israel having nuclear weapons?

Shame on you for picking on me!

If I have a beef with France isn't your problem is it?
Or do you also want to police inter-European discussions?

Yeah, I know perfectly well about that incident. So f*cking what?
Is that a reason for not looking for a peaceful solution and negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran?

Or has hate gone to your head?

In any case, the circumstances of that incident were disputed. I have no reason to believe the British Navy more than the Iranian Navy; they would all lie through their teeth to justify themselves.

Happy now?

"Israel doesn't threaten to wipe any country off the map."

That's the big excuse given by Israel supporters if they are questioned about its "secret" nuclear capability.
Israel has the right, bla, bla, bla...
But why not other countries?
Don't they have the right to defend themselves, just like Israel?

At least, Iran is part of the Non-Proliferation Treaty and allows visit from international observers.

Can Israel do the same?
No, it hasn't even recognised publicly that it has the bomb, for the last ... 20 years!!

Give us a break ....
