Putin will invade every Country that Stalin invaded for the same reasons. He can. Putin sees Obama as weak, and will take back as many countries as he can until a new American President is seated. He is a patient man. He will wait for the next weak Democrat President to be elected.

To be honest now, obama did break out a new box of red line drawing crayons this past week with the original sanctions against 11 Russian officials being upped to 20.

Oh FFS, this hasn't got a damn thing to do with Obama or even the US at all.

The pumpkinheads panicked, watching Ukraine drift to the West. To save face (and Sevastopol, which they can't afford to lose) they grabbed Crimea while they could get away with it - and they will get away with it.

What do you idiots expect Obama to do? Declare war on Russia? WTF for? All Putin has done is get himself a mini-Chechnya at worst, maintained a port on the Black Sea at best, and driven Ukraine into the arms of the West.

There's nothing we/Obama can or even should do about it. We (NATO) still hold the Bosporus. So quit worrying.

Putin acted out of fear and nothing more, and in the long term he has lost the rest of Ukraine. Tactical victory for him in the short term, long term it is a strategic victory for the West.

Thanks for the entirely non-substantive response, devoid of any actual argument or counterpoint.

Pray tell, and be specific, what exactly should the US do about this that we aren't already doing?

Anyway, this is Krauthammer. It wouldn't matter what Obama did, Farthammer would criticize it because that's what he is paid to do.

Let the real Krauts handle it.

his response is as always exaggerated. And it is no invasion, People of Crimea wanted to be with Russia, they want not to be the part of Ukraine. It seems that this east part of Ukraine would like to be with Russia too.

first, apologise to Russia and the people of Crimea for the war mongering rhetoric. Thereafter, instruct the illegal fascist Ukraine government to hold democratic elections and abide by the result PDQ. The Russian speaking populace of South and east Ukraine no longer wish to be part of a fascist run state whom have already served fearful notice on them. Lastly, the US stay out of the affairs of foreign states in trying to destabilise them and bring an end to subvert and covert actions, the double standards that are killing hundreds of thousands of innocents. The White House is actually funding Al-Qaeda in Syria who butchered thousands of American citizens. Now that is wrong on so many levels and how the American people suffer this fool and his heinous advisors beggars belief. You reap what you sow.

I heard Crimea has adopted Svoboda's new banner (they didn't like the swastika). One change though, they only left one finger in the air.

You have all the analytic skills of a summer squash. Vlad Putin is a complete boor, just a slightly smarter counterpart to our own boorish idiot-in-chief #43.
You and others so admire this Putin poltroon, you might enjoy living under the Russian flag. We'll try to carry on without you.
