I've just read a story that the police and prosecutor in Renton are using the law to determine the identity of a person who has created cartoons which parody the Renton police. This must stop. This is contrary to the First Amendment. It resembles the tactics of Islamic madmen responding to a cartoon about Mohammed. I can't believe someone with a law license in the United States would be associated with it. It reminds me of the two recent stories, one in Ohio and one from Long Island, where police illegally assaulted persons who, without interfering with police, video taped police activities. In both cases, the arrests were voided by more sane people. Perhaps the story about Renton is wrong, in which case I apologize. If, however, the news story is incorrect, someone in Renton needs to be fired. The police are not "in charge" of anything they like. They are subject to the law as much as the rest of America.

It's all about image and perception which this local government seems to realize. Power perceived is power achieved.

Perception ie image unfortunetly applies to almost every job, trade, profession etc yet it really should not or does not need to be required or emphasized.

People travel their entire lives on perception. You dare not derail that train or face the consequences.
