Texas fertilizer company didn't heed disclosure rules before blast

Apr 20, 2013 Full story: Reuters 72

The fertilizer plant that exploded on Wednesday, obliterating part of a small Texas town and killing at least 14 people, had last year been storing 1,350 times the amount of ammonium nitrate that would normally trigger safety oversight by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security .

That's not the picture Rambling Rick Perry paints.

How is that stress free Texas Regulatory environment now that a half of a town has been decimated?

Industrial neglect in Texas has a higher body count than recent acts of terrorism in America.

When Reporters are kept out of ground zero that is in line with how the Chinese and Russians implement "News Blackouts" That way they can shape the narrative to fit their liking, exactly how Texas is doing in this catastrophe, last word is that the affected residents are not getting any help from the State of Texas and want the Federal Government to step in and take control.

Texas will shape the narrative as the residents and property owners should have had Insurance, and if their insurance companies give them the run around, oh well.

A. There is no talk of secesion from the majority of Texans, moron. You have people in your state that speaks of it. There is no medial blackout you lying scum..it's on CNN, Fox, MSNBC and others. There are bodies in the blast area and reporters are kept out of there only for now.
B. You're not a very good liar...
C. The states response has been overwhelming with money, blood donations, food, rv's and many other items for the town residents.
D. You're proof that scum liberals will use any tragedy for your propaganda....go outside to your sandbox and play go scrw yourself, boy.

Those must to have been the same inspectors used to inspect the Horizon Drilling Rig in the Gulf of Mexico before it exploded, killing 11 and spilling 500,000 Barrels of oil in the Black Lagoon?

There is NONE in any catogorie for the beach houses built in blue states ripped up by Hurricane Sandy...none for the victims of a school with no law enforcement where chilren got killed by a registered demorat nutball.
Practice what you fkn preach, quit using tragedies for socialist propagana.

That don't fly. Bush got first hand information from Richard Clarke a Clinton appointee who Bush retained, he ignored the warnings.

Bush even ignored the fact the attack was done by Al Qaeda and Bin Laden even after the fact and turned his attention and all of America's resources to finding links for the attack to Iraq.

He dedicated $1.4 Trillion to invading Iraq and ignored Al Qaeda and Bin Laden, who as it turn out moved into a compound down the block from the Bush Funded Pakistan Military Academy, for some 7 years of Bush's presidency
Bluebonnets-Thistle wrote:

Bush got the same warnings as Clinton did..........Clinton got more attacks under al queda than Bush..so he attacked Mt. Carmel and Rugy Ridge.........that really fkn helped didn't it???
"Al queda plans to attack Amreica..." When, how, where wasn't known...same memo Clinton recieved, passed on to Bush.
"Plenty of investigations by whom??????? Gore was assigned by Clinton to head al queda investigations after US Embassy bombings........Nada!! Nothing......then the Air Force Barracks...then the USS Cole.....nothing.
The EPA and OSHA inspected the pant in West many times, already proven...a fire was caused by welding or some other as of yet unknown source...a volunteer fireman probably sprayed water on the ammonnia nitrate which shouldn't be done and bang.
It was a tragedy and neither Bush nor Perry should be blemed and measures should be taken to prevent it again, like it's done afer industrial accidents in all 50 states.
You're attempt at further liberal propaganda of a tragedy is crap.
You left out failed Fisker by nobama.....another 500 million, Nevada Geothermal....another 250 million and several more not to include the failed shovel ready and cash for clunkers. Typical liberal bullshit.

This industrial catastrophe follows along the same path of the Deep Water Drilling Rig the Horizon, Sham inspections and hands off regulatory environment.

And yielded the same results, a major catastrophe causing the senseless deaths of low level employees or, in this case Emergency responders, or expendable public service workers.

The blast killed 14 people, 5 of which were fireman.
The Firemen's union will sue the plant as will as the 9 families who lost loved ones.

They can file for whatever they want. They and their insurance company are going to be paying out millions for their non-compliance and utter lack of concern for the safety of their employees and those in the surrounding area.
Karma's a bitch.

In the history of our country, Texas has always had a HEAVY hand in everything and managed to manipulate an entire economic and political system with it's bullying tactics and their "you're either with us or a-gin us" attitude. They let this plant do whatever it wanted and now they are all going to pay the price. Let them try to "Putin" the press all they want. The story WILL be told and their mistakes will be exposed. This ain't Russia, Gov. Perry and you ain't Putin.

When they say "Everything's bigger in Texas", that includes their ignorance.

The situation is not as binary as some of you ignorant know it all loudmouths assume. I know of many hazardous (explosive mostly) areas all over the country, there may be one near you. Industrial AC, pipelines, gasoline stations, railroads, highways ... hazards all if the circumstances are right.

The article at the link below will give some perspective (forget Fox, MSNBC, CNN etc, find a source that is trying to inform not sell an ideolgy).
