Knoxville Zoo challenges citations, penalties stemming from trainer death
The Knoxville Zoo said it has formally contested all of the "alleged citations and proposed penalties" levied by the Tennessee Division of Labor and Workforce Development's Division of Occupational Safety and Health Administration .

of course the will challenge it...they don't wanna pay penalties....now, the govt can go a bit overboard on these things, but if I was an elephant kept in a cage at a zoo, I would be unhappy...and I certainly would not work with these beasts....hello, they can kill you?!?!? When will we see the light? and they can pay the fee with the entrance fees they charge and the parking fees that are crazy high for an old and outdated zoo.....
