"For 28-year-old New Yorker Matthew Penberg, the holiday is a day off from his job as a bus boy.
"I get to take a break and go to the beach," he said. "And today is the day people, Americans, demanded their rights. I don't think we're there yet. I think we should have a right to a job, but a lot of people have to look for it.""
Earth to Matt: You do not have a right to a job, sport...you have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It's up to you to prepare yourself for and to land a job.

Why is so much emphasis placed on July 4th and our declaration of independence and so little given to September 3rd 1783 when our independence was attained? Our struggle against Great Britain was an 8+ year ordeal and so much of it gets short shrift.
