Also, I see that all the traffic that leaves the elevators are all directed to the bookstore, so how does the bookstore lose money due to the lack of traffic?
The Rangers their are all frustrated, and some Rangers should leave.
I get an ear full from one Ranger about this, and that there are major problems there.
I found something out today, 3 and 4 elevator shaft work was done incorrectly they cannot be used not safe, the big elevators are shut down, until they completely rip out everything and redo it again, that will cost thousands and thousands of dollars, the contractors that installed all this refused to do anything about it, and they cannot find anybody that will touch this job so elevators 3 and 4 the two big ones for the foreseeable future will not be used.
And I found something else interesting the two small elevators 1 and 2 Just about worn out about the quit working.
I think the National Park Service needs to get on the ball and do something about this the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce need to start to raise some hell start calling some congressmen get the governor involved get this fixed.

They should close it.
One of the two elevators still works !
Not too many over 30 would want to make the 750 ft climb out the entrance .

Descending into a cave and bitching about the elevator is about like paying to be cryogenicically frozen and bitching that you don't like the cold.

The only difference is: it't the REST of us taxpayers who have to foot the elevator bill for the first bunch of idiots I described.

Is no one going to get punished for this miss-management of the tax payers money? How much is this going to cost the taxpayers and how long will this inconvenience the visitors? I think the CCA should investigate all this.
The company that did the work says it was the Parks fault that they failed to do the things they were suppose to do.

Rumor: Carlsbad Caverns has numerous problems from Elevators to Restrooms in the caverns, and low visitation.
There is talk of "closing the Caverns" due to 2013 Dept. of Interior and National Park Service budget problems. WOW !

The Caverns is the best place to get a homo lover. As a matter of fact it's a good place for sex in general. The sexual stories go from homo self discovery to extramarital affairs. Sex in the cave is not uncommon nor is sexual harassment. That "warm and fuzzy" you feel in the cave is not what you thought.
