I hope he rots in you know where. There are really no words to describe this low life. It is a shame he can't be made to suffer like his victims did.

He AGREED? Why did he have a choice? When did our "justice" system devolve to a place where the heinous criminal picks and chooses what he will plead to outside of a courtroom where he/she never faces the people? The prosecutors and judges now do everything behind closed doors and plea bargain everything. Do they even train lawyers to try a case in court any more? Do they know how to plead a case in front of a jury of citizens?

Prosecutors certainly had enough evidence and a surviving witness to make sure this criminal got the sentence he actually deserves--not one Jackson CHOOSES to get.

You deserve more than life in prision, but its a far cry better than 20- 25.

Yes, justice has been done and hopefully the families can now get some closure. I'm sure he'll get what's coming to him in prison!

I agree with Sunny's comments 100%. He may have avoided the death sentence behind closed doors. He can murder and maim, but is to cowardly to die himself.

There should never have been a plea allowed. Go to he11, go directly to he11, do not pass GO, do not collect $200. No plea -- Death Penalty, and that's all she wrote! Now the taxpayers have to foot the bill for his room & board for the rest of his miserable, useless, POINTLESS life!

All the more reason to carry a weapon in the National Parks. We are now allowed to carry and if you go into a park you need to be educated as to the laws available for protection. Screw the police they are a reactive entity, protect yourself under the law!!!!!@

I agree with you folks who say the defendent should get the death penalty, however it costs taxpayers much more money to put a person to death, regardless of the crime. To save money (lots of it!) a sentence of life without parole might be the wiser choice to us taxpayers. By the way, I'm a retired NPS law enforcement ranger who worked in that area of the Parkway for 13 years, and retired in 2005.
