On the same topic, I was listening to talk radio tonight and the guy doing the news breaks from CNN Radio was reporting that the fire in Arizona had spread to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park in New Mexico...

I think that's all I need to say...

Hint Hint to all you pyro's who want to play with fireworks in the dry desert.

This should back up the choice of Veronica Escobar.
Fire and dry shrubs causes acres of fire.

Sorry to be point out the truth. For those who want to play with fireworks in the desert, your mother needs to slap some common sense into you.

That sucks about Carlsbad. Lets not let any fires start here or around our city.

Don't agree. Go F.-C...K yourself

Youre right, thats why we need to take serious steps to ensure that wildfires don't spread out of control! Ban all fireworks in the desert southwestern states for good, impose fire restrictions on charcoal grills, even in the city limits. If our govt. leaders and the public in AZ and Mexico don't know who Smokey Bear is, others in this country will give you a history and fire prevention lessons!

Wild fires are natural. If there weren't any people around, they'd burn and burn. for thousands of miles. What rises afterwards is fresh vegetation that feeds off the burned organic plants from before. I say let it rage.

I hope the local politicians assume a leadership role by also encouraging people and businesses to turn off their unnecessary lights, music, t.v.s and curtail their unnecessary use of electricity, in order to help prevent or minimize the use of rolling blackouts by EPEC should their transmission lines go down.

The NM National Guard has been activated to fight the Arizona Wallows fire. I think City Council should request Gov. Perry to also activate the National Guard in Texas to assist with the Wallows fire and the fire in Carlsbad. Troops at Ft. Bliss are trained by the National Forest Service to fight fires and City Council also ought to inquire about their availability to assist with these two fires. The City should send whatever local firefighters can be sent without compromising the City.

The article said "Carlsbad Caverns". A cavern is typically under ground. Now who's the idiot? Take that!

Look at your map! Arizona is West of New Mexico and the fire is burning toward Reserve and several small towns in western New Mexico. Carlsbad and Carlsbad Cavern state park are east of El Paso and on the far eastern part of the state. The Arizona fire would have had to burn the whole state of New Mexico to have started burning in Carlsbad.

It's been reported that Hillary and Congressman Wiennie's wife were spotted fleeing the Carsbad Caverns with the other bats.
