Just wondering how they caught the two who murdered that little man who walked in in Harlan everyday, but havent arrested anyone in James case ??? We need to get these thugs off our streets, James is gone, and the killers are still running free, James was a good man, he might have had some rocky spots in his life, but he was a human being who deserves justice just like any other murdered victom, please , if anyone knows anything, please tell the proper authorities !!!! Rest in peace my sweet friend James, I will keep this alive till they get who did this to you !!

Sooner or latter the truth will come out, they just didn't break the law of the land, they broke Gods law and sooner or latter it will come out and someone will have to pay for this crime I hope and pray for James family that God will give them the comfort they need to carry on.

If the family is so upset, then take your anger out on the people who committed the crime and not the people who are just doing their jobs by reporting the news and facts. YES a peson can turn their life around, but that doesn't change their lengthy criminal history, and by doing some research on the matter, I found out it was lengthy. There was a long list of arrests made. God forgives us of our sins, but we still have to live with the repercutions of those sins. You guys have got to be open minded enough to know that his criminal history was an imperative part of the story. I can't beleive some of the close-minded, judgemental people who still live in Harlan County. And what makes me most upset is people who claim THEY are Christians getting hostile toward the media (innocent bystanders). Looks to me like there's people out there who need to practice what they preach.
Whomever you are, you have evidentally NOT had to deal with the law in Harlan Co. busting in your house putting guns in your face, throwing people on the floor and parading them thru town to the sheriffs office with 10 cops escorting and the media taking pictures. Then when the case is settled and the person is either dismissed, or found NOT GUILTY, nothing is on the front page of the newspaper about the=at but they sure do publish people getting arrested and their homes and family are deeply affected. Then when the reolution comes NO HEADLINES for beating the charges. THAT'S WHAT'S REALLY F-ED UP ABOUT HARLAN!!!!!!! Just as James was tried and convicted in the press, we all get initially, but when it is all said and done, no appologies, no picture on the front page saying such n such exonerated from charges a year and a half ago. WHY NOT?

the fbi questioned jimmy aslinger and cathy creech about his murder 17 times so what the hells going on? they did'nt question them that many times for no reason i would'nt think. also what about jamie from pathfork that joy bolin supposedly killed? i guess the law don't care about people that have been murdered if they have a past.

People really need to know the real James Long. His wife Thelma had Lou Gehrigs disease. She did not want to ever been put in a nursing home. He always put flowers on the table when they had dinner. He carry her when she could not walk. When she needed to be rolled in bed to prevent bed sores he did his best. I know birthday, anniversary or holiday there was flowers on her grave. He always took care of his wife needs. Now the family prays for the killer or killers to be caught. If anybody knows anything please call fbi or state police. You do not have to give your name or number. If this happen in your family you would do what I am doing.
