So you don't have drugs and partying in Duck and Corolla now. Puhleeeease. One of the owners of a "nice restaurant" in Duck and a new one in Corolla and his partner? Quit being a hypocrite and open your eyes.

Despite what they may think...the truth of the matter is that Duck is no different from anywhere else on the OBX except the average Joe can't get to the beach there. Trust me, the place is not a "town," its a collection of subdivisions that no one in the General Assembly had the backbone to prevent yet another incorporation bill. Wealthy compared to most, yep. A "town?" Not even close. The smart ones were the one's who voted against incorporation and another unecessary layer of taxes.

Tell me this is not true. Oh the lawsuits coming in from the other applicants if it is. how an ex-police officer was terminated in Kill Devil Hills. However, to be hired a few days ago by Duck PD. Wait a second folks! I have property in Duck. There is no way, if true, this happened. If true, is the applicant pool that thin or bloodied with felons, miscreants, and the like. Hiring a terminated officer? A position of public trust! Someone, anyone, tell me this is simply not true. Then to think if there were applicants without such blemishes, the law suits against the department, the city, etc. Listening as the old coot I am you can see the officers here only transfer from one department to the other, but now the possibility of having to hire those terminated.

Stuck-up in Duck, a pretty wierd place to live, a nice place for a couple of wealthy familys to escape the rat race, but a Town? No, except it has been allowed a charter apparetnly. Largely a waste of money by folks who currently have enought that its not an issue for them. Give it a decade or two, it will probably begin to be seen like the unnecessary duplication of government services it actually is.
