We have another week of this entrancing weather predicted, without any rain predictions (though that can change suddenly, of course).

Let's hear it for the firefighters who not only engage in dangerous work, but have to do it outside in weather above 100 degrees. Well, above 100 degrees in areas that *aren't* on fire. I don't know how they manage.

Thank you. I can assure everyone that as far as firefighting goes, I'd just get in everybody's way.

I was raised to believe that speaking kind words of people in difficult positions was a good thing to do. There are apparently people here who think that it's pointless to open one's mouth (or one's computer), other than to gin up opportunities to attack people.

Really, they give trolls a bad name.

You weren't making any sense with how you described how you dealt with being a single mother, and I lost my temper with you. I apologize for being unkind, you're right; it was trollish of me.

New update on New Mexico Fire Information:

http://nmfireinfo.wordpress.com/2011/06/14/lo...

This is helpful as it has a map, and other details and links.

"Carlsbad Caverns National Park Superintendent John Benjamin said,“We can’t thank and praise the firefighters and support staff enough for their quick response and teamwork! When notified of the fire, park staff responded immediately, but there would be much more damage in the park if others hadn’t arrived to help. Within a couple hours, several of the area’s volunteer and paid fire engines and crews were on site. Also, our neighboring national park, Guadalupe Mountains, sent some of their staff to help with the fire and security.”

One of the articles the CCA has published here today read that it had burned about 100 acres. Other than that, I haven't seen any press on it.

You're very welcome. One commenter wrote that the fire fighters did a good job protecting buildings, and that what had burned was pretty much "what needed to burn," by which I can only guess s/he meant brush.
