There was a time, not that long ago, when we were all working, traveling, talking, we laughed, loved, and learned.

I would like the govt to place the main emphasis on growing the economy, by doing its share of the work locally. It must encourage local investment and offer incntives for enterpreneurs who are brave enough to venture into unknown territory during the global depression.
Let us look at 'Ofa from NZ who hired the crusher and baler for $25,000 a month to get rid of the old cars that litter the countryside. Not only is she doing a good job at emplying local people,'Ofa is starting the "Get Tonga clean and green". This can be the motto for Tonga as it attempts to export its agricultural produce.
Incentives from the govt will go a long way towards local investors starting up their businesses locally. Tonga does not need monopoly because it is too expensive. The local flights to the islands is far too expensive for the people.
Why is the govt reluctant to revive the ACC? What's in the closet that it has tried 3 times to do so and costing the taxpayers thousands of dollars. Tonga needs to be accountable for the money of the international donors, ensuring the poor people benefit.
The imposition of the good governance bill is met with unprecented hostility in the villages where the govt tries to air this bill publicly. Peopla see this bill as an affront to the public. No more independence, impartiality in the judicial process of Tonga. The kingdom is becoming a state country with the PM and his Cabinet endowed with too much power. Aristocracy is rearing its ugly head again in Tonga. How King George Tupou 1 would have cringed at the shortsightedness, arrogance and contempt shown by the leaders to-day.
This govt is bad, bad news for Tonga. The people are much worse off than before and they don't care.
The constitutions are stacked in favour of the govt. The 9 seats of the nobles have to be abolished to bring judicious and equitable balance to the govenance of Tonga.
As one American Tongan says about his homeland,:" the country is f....-up. The present administration must go for Tonga to resume some normality. How can $33millions be gifted by the PM to his in-laws with no kick-back. This is theft at the highest level, yet nothing is done by the police asnd the attorney general about it. A lowly paid clerk could not account for $5 at a govt job, and was dismissed. Where is the fairness and the rule of law, hey???
