Can anyone spell GOPer Hypocrite?
But it isn’t only Ryan who has been demagoguing this issue. Starting in 2009 when the recovery act was passed in the House with no Republican support and in the Senate with only three moderate Republicans, the GOP has characterized it as the biggest economic scam perpetrated on the American people by President Barack Obama and his fellow Democrats.
Speaker of the House
Indeed, Ohio’s own congressman, John Boehner, speaker of the House of Representatives, has reveled in the fact that not one member of his caucus in Congress voted for the $787 billion package.
The Republicans have been unrelenting in their criticism of the stimulus bill — leading fair-minded people to conclude that all those who voted “no” stood on principle, telling the Obama administration they wanted nothing to do with the money. Unfortunately, such a conclusion would simply serve to confirm the belief of these political hypocrites that the American people are too stupid to know when they’re being scammed.
Just look at what has occurred in Ohio, which will decide the Nov. 6 presidential election.
The state has received more than $17 billion in stimulus funds, which is not surprising given its size and its economic importance. But here’s the Kodak moment: Of the 18 congressional districts, 13 are in the hands of Republicans, including House Speaker Boehner.
Did he or any of his Republican colleagues tell President Obama not to fund projects in their districts, or to send stimulus money to Ohio for roads and bridges, job-training programs, housing or military installations?
Of course not.
Did Boehner, whose 8th District includes suburban areas around Cincinnati and Dayton, urge Washington not to send $948 million and $368 million, respectively, to those two cities?
Did Congressman Steve Stivers, R-Ripley, whose 15th District is made up of Madison and Union counties and parts of Franklin County, tell the federal government not to funnel $5.2 billion through his district?
Or how about Republicans Jean Schmidt, Steven Chabot, and Bob Gibbs, whose districts were the recipients of $497 million,$334 million and $301 million, respectively.
Republican example
At this point, it is important to note that not all the money assigned to a congressional district is only for local projects. However, borrowing a page from the Republican’s handbook entitled,“Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good political stunt,” this writer will not detail how Stivers’ district, for instance, ended up with $5 billion.
Why waste a good column with the facts? Or, as Speaker Boehner and his cohorts would quip,“Why waste a good political issue with the truth?”
Suffice it to say that most of the $17 billion sent to Ohio ended up in Republican congressional districts.
You certainly won’t hear any of them say,“My district received stimulus dollars and I’m mad as hell. I don’t need no stinkin’ help from that Socialist Obama.”

Republican vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan sat down for his first solo interview with Fox News' Brit Hume and let slip an admission about Mitt Romney's budget plan -- an admission that's receiving surprisingly little press attention. Asked by Hume when the Romney plan would balance the budget, Ryan said he didn't know because "we haven't run the numbers on that specific plan."

First, Mitt Romney has been going around telling everyone that, if elected, he intends to balance the federal budget by the end of his second term, or shortly thereafter. Ryan says that they don't know when Romney's plan will balance the budget. If Ryan is right, then what is Romney basing that claim on?

Second, the narrative that Ryan has cultivated among the press is that he's a budget wonk who understands fiscal issues and is allergic to deficits (this despite having voted for all the Bush-era policies that saddled us with high debt and ballooning deficits). Embracing the Romney budget and then saying that he doesn't know when it will balance because the campaign "hasn't run the numbers" runs counter to his reputation as a Serious Fiscal Hawk.

How can you claim to have a budget and also to have not "run the numbers?" Isn't that all a budget is? Numbers that have been run?

Poor teabaggers.

Since The Tea Party is for smaller government and less taxes you ploy is ignorant of facts. Maybe if you peek under the Obama curtain you will see that the middle class has been hurt throught his 21 new taxes in ObamaCare, and his inflation causing spending agenda. Check what the middle class was paying for Gas, Milk, Bread, Meat and other staples. Obama has been the biggest attack on the middle class since WILSON and LBJ.

Teabaggers are for CORPORATE government.

No taxes, except for the poor and middle class working people.

No regulations so they can be free to poison and destroy anyone or anything in their search for profit.

Free trade to eliminate the rest of American jobs in their quest for profit.

Free markets for Wall Street, not main street.

Privatize everything in their quest for more taxpayer money.

Privatize profits and socialize losses.

Corporate "self regulation" but whine to the government when THEY cause death and destruction.

Want government out of the way except for a woman's vagina and uterus.

Want to police the world, while taking Americans liberties away.

Ryan's "premium support" proposal for Medicare: Myths and facts
By Ida Hellander, M.D./ August 14, 2012 / http://tinyurl.com/94zcx55
“Premium support” or voucher proposals for Medicare are a mainstay of conservative health policy. They have been defeated for over three decades, starting with President Reagan’s FY 1981 budget proposal. They are a key feature of “managed competition”-type reform proposals. Although President Clinton embraced managed competition in his ill-fated health reform bill, he vetoed the 1995 Balanced Budget Act which would have turned Medicare into a voucher program. Premium support proposals were defeated again in 1997 and 2003.
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), chairman of the House Budget Committee and candidate for vice president on the presumptive GOP ticket with Mitt Romney, resurrected the idea of a premium support proposal for Medicare in April 2011 with his “Path to Prosperity” budget proposal. Seniors would receive a fixed federal contribution or “defined contribution” to apply towards the cost of a private plan, and traditional Medicare, with its guaranteed coverage, or “defined benefits,” would be eliminated. The plan also called for increasing the age of Medicare eligibility from 65 to 67.
A so-called bipartisan variant of this scheme was proposed by Ryan in November 2011, with Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.); in this version traditional Medicare would continue to be an option alongside private plans, and subsidy levels would be set at the cost of the next-to-cheapest plan, as determined by competitive bidding rather than be set by CMS. Medicare growth would be capped at GDP + 1 percent.

Bernie Sanders Calls Out CEO Tax Dodgers over Deficit, Hypocrisy
'The last thing we need to do is listen to these deficit increasing CEOs'
October 25, 2012 /
Senator Bernie Sanders called out a group of the top US CEOs Thursday in a new report revealing top corporate tax dodgers in the US and urged those dodgers to 'look in the mirror' for the causes of America's ballooning deficit. The report followed a joint statement issued Thursday morning by the top 80 US CEOs, pleading to Congress for a deficit reduction plan that would include cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, and a decrease in taxes "for the top 2%.
The report Top Corporate Tax Dodgers (pdf) outlines individual CEO income and tax information, exploring the vast amounts of tax avoidance from the members of the group who today urged congress to avoid the 'fiscal cliff' budget, through their telling new plan.
Sanders reveals how many of the CEOs who issued the statement have evaded at least $34.5 billion in taxes through more than 600 subsidiaries in the Cayman Islands and other offshore tax havens since 2008. Roughly a dozen of their companies did not pay federal income taxes at all in recent years and some received an additional $6.4 billion in tax refunds from the IRS since 2008. Many of the companies were among those who received the $2.5 trillion from the Federal Reserve following the banking industry induced financial crisis.
