Ruben Navarrette: A humane way to deportations

There are 6 comments on the The Indianapolis Star story from Sep 30, 2012, titled Ruben Navarrette: A humane way to deportations. In it, The Indianapolis Star reports that:

The idea that those who can't find work in the United States would decide to cut their losses and head home is infinitely more humane than what occurs now when the heavy-handed federal government takes it upon itself to aggressively arrest, detain and remove illegal immigrants.

It would be ideal if illegal aliens would simply self deport and return legally.
In terms of tearing families apart there is not blame there except what falls on the illegal aliens themself, had they not chosen to break the law or laws then they would not be in such a situation. A parent can always take their child or children with them even if that child is an American. The parent often chooses not to take the child, rather abandon the child to state child services or a legal family member. The parent hopes that by claiming family seperation ICE will not deport the parent, hence anchor baby.
I have no sympathy for illegal aliens being arrested, shackled, put in prison, and ultimately deported. They have only themselves to blame for the choices they made.

I care more about what has happened to legal Americans as a result of illegal aliens than the sob stories coming from those who willfully choose an illegal path into our country and then continue to commit more violations to stay.

I wish it were that easy, remove all the elements that attract them here, birthright citizenship,, healthcare, free education, no accountability for premature birthing, etc etc., and self deportation sounds good, only on paper.

They won't leave until we stop feeding them and financing them with taxpayer benefits.

The old story about taking down the bird feeder and the birds go elsewhere applies here for sure.
