l<quoted text>First of all, research shows the immigrants who are here illegally have actually contributed to our economy. That does not justify their illegal entry, but I want to get that argument off the table.
Second, how would you handle the estimated 12 million illegals who are already here, some for years?
Thirdly, I am offended by your suggestion that I have no compassion for American citizens. If you can infer that from anything I've said, you are the victim of your own biases.
Nope! The only thing they are doing is making the rich richer by using their cheap, illegal labor. The rest of us are having to foot the bill for their social costs which is billions a year and any tax contributions they may make doesn't cover those costs. If Americans got their jobs back from them they in turn would be contributing to the economy instead of drawing unemployment or welfare.
I repeat, we need to implement e-verify in every workplace including making those already employed pass it. We need to deny illegal aliens any benefits and end birthright citizenship for their kids. Many if not would leave on their own with no incentives to remain here. It would also deter any future illegal immigration.
Since you think illegals should be treated humanely via an amnesty then you have no compassion for our own citizens because even legalized these people would still remain a burden on the taxpayer and they would be able to retain the jobs that Americans need. How can you claim that your are compassionate for our own citizens with a stance like that? Why do you think these lawbreakers should be rewarded with legalization and/or our citizenship? Many if not most have committed felony ID/SS theft among other crimes. How are they deserving in any way while Americans get the shaft?
