Rand Paul has a dilemna.
On one hand he's a Libertarian. A border is a government restriction. So that goes against Libertarian principles.
But the Tea-party is a bunch of phony Libetarians who cherry-pick those Libertarian restrictions that they like.

The latest immigration reform talks in Congress:

http://www.azcentral.com/news/politics/free/2...

If you're a blue-collar working American with a decent wage, the Democrats and the Unions have your back. While the Republicans want 400,000 "guest worker visa" to be allowed under any new immigration bill so that businesses can have access to this source of cheap labor. Such guest workers would have to be paid at least minimum wage by law.

Guess who's going to take your blue-collar job for minimum wage. And guess who's going to drop anchor babies and overstay their visa.

Thank you, Republicans!

The Libertarian platform sets forth that immigration should be predicated on the need for labor. If the need for labor is high, immigration s/b high; low labor = low immigration. Simple enough.

Bull shit.
They don't come here legally because they can't meet the requirements.
They can pay a coyote $10,000 to sneak them across the border but they can't support their families in Mexico? That $10K is a year's wages. Where and how do they come up with that kind of cash?
They all want a "better way of life for their families" at our expense, not at their's.
If you are so damned sympathetic to their plight, go down to Mexico and campaign for reform there.
kind of shows their support for organized crime as well.

Prove it. The point is many pay a coyote mulitple times, period. They get deported, and in a short time are making plans to return when they have another coyote lined up. Thousands of dollars that should have been spent on their families that they claim they can't afford to feed. A little ironic, don't you think?

I prefer Libertarians, but can't stand Republicans NOR tea partiers. Rand only joined the Republican party because people think other parties besides the big 2 don't exist.b

Prove it? Well, thats the word on the street. Its best you check all those Western Union payments being sent to Houston, San Antonio, and Phoenix. Better yet, just ask someone that works at a Western Union retailer.

Where do you get the border, as a government restriction, is against Libertarian principles? Libertarians follow the rules of law as they are. They, as I, are against laws that interfere with personal liberties as set forth in the Constitution. Border control is a major federal government function. Most of the rest of this crap in the news is not.

Oh really, because they will know unequivocally how those payments being wired will be utilized, right? You have it all figured out, don't you? LOL

That sounds good but who gets to decide if we need extra labor. I'll tell you who, the corporations will make that call. They'll go to the politicians with suitcases full of money and the politicians will do whatever they are told. Libertarians are na´ve idiots when it comes to immigration and free trade. They're actually pretty good on most other things.
