Illegal Aliens Get "Free" Health Care, While Taxpayer Get Free-Flowing Bills

Jan 7, 2012 Full story: news.investors.com 267
An illegal alien just completed 12 surgeries and a record 374-day stay in a Fresno hospital. For him, it was "free" health care. But for taxpayers, the hospital and patients who ultimately pay, it's another big bill. Full Story

This is why hospitals in southern CA and the border states are having to close. With budget cuts and support from the fed gov (declining tax PAYERS) hospitals that have to deal with nonpaying illegals and their anchors will continue to close. Ooooops.

Argentina used to be a fairly wealthy nation. They opened their "free" health care to anyone who could crawl, stumble or drag themselves across their border. The neighboring countries began arranging buses to take their sick and dying, relieving themsleves of this burden. It's only a matter of time before Mexico does the same thing (they may be doing it already). Argentina's experiment with socialim left them totally bankrupt, with their currency not worth the paper it was printed on.

No sane nation would tolerate this idiocy. Why don't we all just buy a gun and shoot ourselves in the head? It'd be quicker than this slow "suicide-by-stupidity " that we have going now.

I agree but if I may add a thought. I ask businesses I frequent if they e-verify.If they do not ,I go elsewhere. I have suggested if they decide to do so I advise they advertise in our local newspaper so that I may again frequent their business. Many businesses have said the e-verify does not work.I tell them I will notify our congressional reps and ask them to follow up with them. Most start to stutter and look for other excuses so be careful of the liars. We are going to have to force businesses to e-verify as the Chamber of Commerce does not even believe in it.

How is this any different than a natural born american too messed up on drugs and alcohol with medicaid who spends all their money on electronics, expensive cars, and nice clothes or shoes. I believe illegals are the least of our worries. Plenty of americans get free health care and don't pay the bills. For example the unemployed truck driver who robbed a bank for $1 because he needed back surgery and had no insurance. He went to jail and got the surgery. This is america's fault, not mexicans or illegals. Besides we stole their country and land, they have more ogf a right to be here than most americans
We did not steal anything you stupid Moron! We WON IT IN A WAR! Could this man have gone to Mexico for free insurance? Illegals are the worst of our problems! You have no business being here either! Why didn't you stay in Mexico? Because you are all
sick, hopeless, failures who come to America and steal the goods of the hard working Americans! And lie to yourselves by saying we stole it from you! Karma is a bitch, cockroach!

You hit on something that is little known or discussed. The Chamber of Commerce has become a very powerful small business lobby group and you're correct, they fight tooth and nail against any verification system. I firmly believe that (privately) businesses want illegals although they would deny it publically. Illegals offer less turnover, a lower wage, willingness to do "dirty" work and are unlikely to demand overtime or time-off while the taxpayer picks up the dime for their healthcare.

The only way to force this issue is to make more and more people aware of e-verify and demand from our politicians legislation backed with punitive actions for non-compliance. I've read on this forum from a businessman that e-verify is not foolproof. All databases contain errors but regardless it would validate the vast majority plus it would force valid employees to correct their Social Security records. I know first-hand that Social Security does have some errors on file, typically its the last name (women) or the date of birth.

While it could be argued that land was stolen its a mute point; the Southwest is part of America and that's not going to change.

I suggest you Google, "Guatemalans caught crossing the Mexican border" and scan the results. Mexico actually patrols its southern border with Guatemala to keep out illegals (Guatemalans, San Salvadorans, Nicaraguans, Hondurans and others). And Mexico doesn't treat them with kid gloves or offer them any benefits.

I'm all for enforcing ALL laws strictly...those against illegal aliens *and* their employers. I would like to see their employers spend no less than 5 years in prison (with no possibility of early release) as well as have a fine of no less than 25% of their gross (not net) profits for the whole 5 years prior to the arrest and the 5 years the employer spends in prison. If they can't stay in business, well, too bad. Don't commit the crime if you cannot do the time!

I'd rather take the gun and shoot the illegal aliens. Far more productive, in my opinion.

LMAO! Is he legal or illegal?

If he's illegal -- Five kids? And you're saying he doesn't get government assistance? If he's illegal, you're part of the problem. It is a crime to encourage an illegal alien to come here or stay here. Your not turning him in encourages him to stay if he's illegal.

The illegal aliens from Mexico are low/no educated. They will cost us more than they will ever contribute. Start your drive.

Quote:
In FY 2006, USDA spent nearly $5.1 billion to serve about 8.2 million WIC participants. Hispanics represent the largest racial/ethnic group in the WIC Program. In 2004, about 39 percent of those enrolled in WIC were of Hispanic origin. Approximately 3/4 of the Hispanic infants born in the United States participate in WIC.

(75% on govt. services shortly after being born....)
End Quote

According to Nobel laureate economist Paul Krugman, "low-skilled immigrants do not earn enough money to cover the cost of government benefits they receive." In essence, businesses are making-out like bandits while U.S. taxpayers--whom they won't hire--pay for the government entitlements drawn by immigrants--legal and illegal.

Moreover, more than 25% of illegal immigrants lack the equivalent of a high school education, compared to 9% of American citizens. The Heritage Foundation found that low-skilled immigrants use far more dollars worth of goverment services than they pay in taxes. Further, the Foundation determined that the average low-skilled immigrant household costs the American taxpayer $19,588 per year.

Now, fill us in on whether he's legal or illegal. If he's illegal I'll provide more proof of what the illegal aliens really cost us -- and it's a lot.

Paying taxes doesn't equal legal.

However, if he's legal we aren't referring to him. We are discussing illegal aliens (you did note the title of this article, right?).

However, even legal low/no skilled people cost us more than they will ever contribute. Fact. That is why there are requirements to immigrate here, and we do not accept low/no skilled persons as legal resident aliens.

Why would you suggest driving your brother-in-law to the border if he's legal? We can't deport citizens, and we can only deport legal resident aliens if they commit one felony or two misdemeanors.

You're not making much sense.

If he and his wife are here legally your family members are not the problem. It is not legal immigration that most of us object to it is ILLEGAL ALIENS or UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS that we want to know A/ Did they come to do us harm? B/ Are they collecting services meant for USA citizens? C/ Do they want to come not only to make their lives better but to help keep America strong.
I do not doubt for a minute that there are citizens of the USA who have family all over this world that they want to come to America.
We simply cannot afford to do this and stay strong and free.

Why do we keep absorbing the medical costs of illegals? Why can't we send their country of origin the bill? How much more are we expected to do for these moochers? Do they ever say thank you to the taxpayers of this country, who are providing more for them than their countries of origin ever did?? Of course not, they just whine and demand more from us, while we end up with less in our pockets. There has to be a point where we just say, no mas!
I second this. I have to pay off my co-pay bills in installments, and I have health insurance, that cost me& my husband $640.00 a month. Believe me I steam over this. I know of many many other similar stories.

We need to have Obama notify the leaders of all the countries that criticize the USA for NOT having socialized medicine that we will indeed treat their citizens(illegals to us)until they are healthy enough to travel ,then ship them home ,complete with a bill for their care and transportation. exactly right ...and if you dont have insurance they give you care and send you home with a bill of fourty grand
