Perhaps if New York would enforce immigration laws instead of being a sanctuary for illegals, there'd not be any basis for this violence.

E-verify, 287g, S.B. 1070 would cut down on this.

If we have hate crime laws enforce them too- including when Whites and Asians are attacked.

NOT!! I live in Southern California and for the most part people seem to get along, but with that being said. In some areas that used to be considered black areas are now being taken over just by the sheer numbers of Mexicans. With the Mexicans and Blacks there is tension and with that comes violence. The Mexican gangs are actually killing blacks and have to be segregated in jails and prisons because of the tension. If the Blacks are smart, they will not take up with the illegal aliens and their supporters. They are the one that are already being displaced from low skilled jobs because of the invasion and colonization.

Those of you who aren't surprised that this hadn't happened sooner, raise your hands. One of them said, "We do the right thing." The "right thing" would be for you to go home and leave the summer jobs to unemployed adults and youth who are desperate. Poor you, illegal alien, you clear $400 a week, at $80 per day, that means $1600 month...without taxes. Hummmmmmmm

DonMan, your comments are right on.Since this is the season of the illegal alien, very little attention is given to this particular situation. I understand that Mexicans have gone on an "ethnic cleansing" of blacks in neighborhoods. Mexicans have taken over L.A., particularly former black neighborhoods. Since these are inner city neighborhoods, and not Beverly Hills, no one cares. But as we all know, that which is ignored in the ghetto, speads to the subs (drugs? crack, etc.)

I am not saying that blacks are angels by any means, but the media doesn't really document Mexico's cultural racism, that is basically defended or unacknowledged. I think of their national black buffon Menin Pegin (sp?). They have even recently issued a national stampt that shows a buffon black with big red lips, something that America let go of in the 30's. Fox was president at the time, and he defended it.

Now, for my own personal experience. I worked for the federal govenment in the early 70's. It was a time during very liberal poverty programs to help bridge gaps, etc. The primary beneficiaries were blacks as a result of the 60's civil rights movement. I clearly remember two Mexican government officials who rode on the elevator with me talking about how they have to get some of the federal Title I funds for little brown boys and girls. Shortly thereafter, they started uniting with Spanish surname. That didn't work. Then they started identifying as Hispanic. Having been married to a Cuban, I know that all of the other Hispanic groups don't think very much of Mexicans, but they unified under the label of Hispanic. They are doing all of this because they think that funds will flow to them like blacks received in the 60-70's. They really think that something special is waiting for them, and now that their numbers have squeeked past blacks, they want payment. What they don't realize is that those times have passed for blacks and everybody else. They assumed black tactics of the 60's, used their phrases from that time (racism, racial profiling..,), they have even hidden behind accusations of Nazi and holocaust. Too little too late, Mexicans. Get your own, and get on.

Wrong, Reuben, Mexicans and young African- Americans are NOT on the same side. Young African-Americans are citizens who are losing jobs and benefits to illegal Mexicans. In California, they are being murdered by illegal Mexicans. You are, once again, trying to play the race card to get what you want. Ain't happenin'.

They get along allot better than Whites and Blacks do.

Of course you might find joy in seeing Mexicans and Blacks have skirmishes.

I get a kick how the White man finds it perfectly OK to speak for Black people in a pathetic attempt of suggesting that you all know what's best for Black People.

OK, jobs that the lower skilled worker would take (and many are black), being scooped up by those willing to work for less than living wage. Hey, blacks in DC are frustrated too. Their jobs are being undercut. Several have been speaking out about this issue but are ignored by main stream media. So, white who speak out for this are called racist and blacks are ignored (worse than being called racist because at least when you are called that you know someone has heard you). And know what Washington Post covers today? Plight of the Latino struggling to get work in DC because they cannot speak English well. Um, no mention of maybe employers are using e-verify and that maybe they want to hire people who speak English? But never mention about how lower skilled blacks and whites are losing jobs to Latinos.

I do not blame the black youth in NYC for acting out. Not cool with the idea of violence but yes, I can see the frustration locally and can only imagine what it is doing in a city the size of NYC that is also a sanctuary city!

First of all, there is no excuse for this kind of criminal behavior. That being said, the person who said " we are on the same side" has an attitude that is not a reality. Is there suppose to be some kind of side, if you are a minority? These black youth, don't see it that way, going by their behavior. Is there a side, American vs non-American?

Then there is the immigrant advocate, which said
" I'm not sure anyone knows what the right solution is". Could the solution be something that the advocate group does not want to even consider?
The out pouring of support for illegals, and Latinos, has not only these black youths upset, but others groups as well. Could it be, the black youth have already picked a side? Their side, whatever that may be.

Heck yes, this is not about race. It is about LEGAL AMERICANS (black, white, yellow red and brown) being fed up with these ILLEGAL CRIMINAL workers coming in and depressing wages for ALL of us Americans!

<quoted text>
But if you speak out about the truth and what is happening, you are called racist if you are white, bitter and lazy if you are black (or ignored which is worse) and then the other races and ethicities are forgotten about because I guess they must not matter to the media? MD has an immigrant population (the never differentiate at first between legal and illegal and those stats) according to Wash Post commenter that is first El Salvadoran and then Nigerian and Korean and Indian. You only hear about those that make the best stories. And there are how many illegal here from Europe who overstayed visas, 15,000 in NYC alone based on some stats. 15,000 jobs taken from Americans.

Illegal immigration takes jobs from everyone with the lower skilled workers being hit the hardest and worst. And when you have people who are already piss*d off, and losing what they want and NEED things become a tinderbox.

I do not condone violence but I can understand the frustration. It is only going to get worse if illegal immigration is not tackled and tackled hard. And not by amnesty...

Just the beginning ... going to get much worse. Hispanics through greater numbers are going to seize political control of cities from blacks ... and there is nothing blacks can do about it. By 2020, blacks will be stripped of their political representation, and ruled by hispanics ... and they ain't going to like it.

FROM the ARTICLE: "Even before the most recent attacks, the Mexican consulate hired a counselor to roam Staten Island, advising Mexicans of their rights and encouraging them to report crimes.
“Across the country there is a wave of anti-immigrant violence. There are people who are particularly hateful of the undocumented who are seen as less than human,” said Ana Maria Archila of Make the Road, an immigrant advocate group."

What a load if BS. Advising Mexicans of their rights? That's fine for the legal Mexicans, they have rights. But illegals should have no rights in any country they are unlawfuly occupying!

And there is no 'wave of anti-immigrant violence' across this country. As a matter of fact there is no anti-immigrant anything going on across this country. On the other hand there are millions of people in this country who are fed up with illegals and want them gone and our borders secured!

NYC has brought this 'crime wave' on themselves by turning a blind eye to the illegals in their midst. Illegals are not wanted here, they are not needed here and they are not welcome here. We want them gone!
