seems anyone other than graham is better. all need to see illegal aliens as invaders who need to face charges before being deported with no chance of coming back.they have proven to be untrustworthy.

graham and his gang of 8 proved to be against all citizens, we have a job shortage not a labor shortage.

That is the first step, and things look good right now. Once we have total control,Operation Cleanup America can go into deportation mode. That's a fun one. Lol!!

Bowers: Congress should discuss no immigration reform policies until the border is secure. Says 11 million immigrants in the U.S. illegally should be penalized for breaking the law. Existing laws should be enforced. Supportive of visa tracking and employment verification.

Bright: Illegal immigrants should “self-deport,” which is unlikely, he acknowledges. Illegal immigrants who are arrested should be deported. Secure the borders. Opposes the idea of allowing more “trained professionals” into the country to fill jobs, saying U.S. workers should be trained instead. Supports boosting employment verification, which, he says, will limit immigrants taking jobs from Americans.

Cash:“The back of the line is on the other side of the border. Those who are here illegally should leave and apply to come in legally” as other would-be immigrants have been doing. Secure the borders and limit access to jobs through employment verification. Says Graham’s plan would amount to amnesty, which has been the nation’s policy since the ’80s.“I don’t think anyone believes that (the Gang of Eight’s bill) is actually going to secure the borders.”

Seriously? You want to reward people who are arrested and penalize people who are not arrested. What an unusual approach.

It is surprising how few people realize that the US imposes a ten year penalty on people who "self-deport". They can not even attempt to apply for a visa for ten years. The strange part is if somebody is arrested and deported the bar does not apply to them.

This is another example of simple and small changes to immigration law that would cause hundreds of thousands or perhaps millions of people leave. It's too bad so many people have been told they must oppose any changes to the law.

When was the last time any of you stepped outside your doors? Surprise! This country has been flooded with hundreds of different cultures, they've come here as our guests. Been given free housing, food and jobs. Thats not counting 25 million mexicans that break in every 10 years. Politicians do not have the appetite to get rid of one of them. Lindsay is just talking his. Usual BS. No one is becoming legal, to much money, jobs will still go to aliens, cheap lab r, the border will never be secured. This country is a lawless, greed driven mess and I've see not one person in recent history that wants to fix this mess.

It is ridiculous. First the Germans came, then the Papists, then the Irish the
Italians and on and on. We don't need these trash "cultures". The funny part is every wave of invader somehow thinks they are different and then complains about the next wave. If they are not of English descent and Episcopalian they are all barbarians.

Our ancestors WERE different, Mr. Turner. They came through the front door, and had to be disease free and self-sufficient. There was no welfare. They learned English. They believed in the promise this great nation held, and strived to assimilate and contribute.
The country was different, too. Thousands and thousands of jobs, no minimum wage. It is disingenuous to claim we currently have the exact same circumstances as hundreds of years ago. Neither the people, nor the incentives, nor the economic conditions are comparable.

The "not of English descent" part is social engineering, courtesy of Ted Kennedy. You may know him for his famous speech about how amnesty was a 1 time thing, and would never be repeated???

The front door quite different back then. It is not as if they had to apply to come here or anything. They simply came unannounced. The big difference is that we had Welcome Centers such as Ellis Island. It took approximately 2 hours to complete the whole process and involved a six second medical exam. These exams were not as thorough as some people think. More than 98% of the people who came through Ellis Island were admitted. Do you think that if we put up a welcome center at the border and told people that it was a two hour wait to get in that there would still be any illegal immigrants.

It has been said that if immigrants in the past had to go through the same hoops as people today then 90% of them would have never come here. That is probably right. Yes circumstances are different today then they were in the past, but it is always strange to see people claim moral superiority over others who did the same thing as their ancestors.

We need to elect people who respect our laws, deport the illegal aliens, and reward those who are here legally with immediate citizenship. Send the illegal pond scum home immediately.
