There already exists a "pathway to citizenship".
It is gained by applying and following the laws in place as of now. Not by overstaying a visa or slithering across the border. Why should we reward those who thumb their noses at our laws and steal from our hard working American families? It is a slap across the face to all true immigrants who did it the proper way.
NO AMNESTY!
SECURE THE BORDER.

Let's look at ALL the polls - how's that??

"Some 63% of nearly 4,500 surveyed supported a path to citizenship “provided they meet certain requirements,” the poll by the Public Religion Research Institute and the Brookings Institution showed. The survey, released Thursday, adds public support to bipartisan immigration plans being hashed out in both the House and Senate that are expected to include a path to citizenship"

http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2013/03/21/immi...

"Support for the citizenship route has held steady at 63% throughout 2013 -- rising slightly among Republicans and dipping among political independents, according to the report from the Public Religion Research Institute/Brookings Religion, Values and Immigration Reform Survey.
Earlier this year, the Senate approved a bill including a 13-year path to citizenship for immigrants who pay back taxes and fines and learn English. But House Republicans have refused to consider the bill. The Republicans remain deeply divided on whether immigrants in the United States illegally should be able to gain citizenship at all.
The poll showed there is little support for the alternatives: Deportation was backed by 18%, while 14% supported legal status without citizenship.

"The poll does show that 78% of Americans approve of a path to citizenship, but only after a "waiting period, paying fines and back taxes, passing a criminal background check, and learning English."

They take these polls in Mexico. Everyone I know are fed up and disgusted by this invasion. No one believes that. It's really about young students and young illegals. They used to be accepting but my Family's has seen things in the last few years changing there minds. Like having Teachers spend most of there time on illegals instead of Americans. The news ran the story of young illegals cold cocking people walking down the street. We've seen a lot of crap in this country but killing and maming for fun. That's why my Son is changing his opinion of them. He watch's them at his college get special treatment as well. They literally are not guests but jeez, American's aren't as low budget as illegals and watch what they say. But behind closed doors they're disgusted.

I agree, they are not guests they are criminals. These people sneak into our country, leech off taxpayers, commit more crimes. How dare they demand a free pass (amnesty), the only thing they deserve is immediate deportation. Get out!!

>>A new national poll conducted by Pew Research has found that 60% of Americans oppose the comprehensive immigration reform legislation President Barack Obama has been pushing.

The survey found that "only about a third of the public (32%) approves of the job Obama is doing on immigration policy." In February of 2013, when Obama started to make his push for comprehensive immigration reform along with Sens. Marco Rubio (R-FL) and John McCain (R-AZ), only 43% of Americans disapproved of Obama's immigration agenda. In June, when the Senate was passing its comprehensive immigration reform bill, 47% of Americans disapproved of Obama's immigration agenda.

More Americans have grown to dislike the proposed comprehensive immigration reform plan as more details about it has come out, such as the Congressional Budget Office's determination that the Senate's immigration bill would reduce the wages of working class Americans.

The PRPI methodology:

The weighting was accomplished in two stages. The first stage of weighting corrected for different probabilities of selection associated with the number of adults in each household
and each respondent’s telephone usage patterns. In the second stage, sample demographics were balanced by form to match target population parameters for gender, age, education,
race and Hispanic ethnicity, region (U.S. Census definitions), population density and telephone usage.

http://publicreligion.org/site/wp-content/upl...

Telephone usage patterns? Hispanic ethnicity?

Ahh... nothing like some fudge factors just for "balance", huh?
