But consider: As nearly 510,000 barrels of oil a day are produced in the state's oil patch, workers create another 500,000 gallons of sewer water with only limited means to process or get rid of it.

... oil wells and empty bags used to haul fracture treatment sand.

Theoretically, that hot stuff should be hauled to Colorado for appropriate disposal.

Right now, it's not clear where that waste is going.
