Gay, Civil Rights Groups, Politicians Praise Court's Prop. 8 Ruling

Feb 7, 2012 Full story: EDGE

It is NOT "inevitable" that the SCOTUS takes this case. I really wish "journalists" would stop using that terminology.

I partially agree W.T.S., I do not believe that it is inevitable that the Court will hear this particular case (prop 8), but I do believe that the Court will eventually have to make a decision on the issue itself (SSM).

Oh I agree with you on that. Just not now, and not this case. This ruling was written specifically with Justice Kennedy (the swing vote on the SCOTUS) in mind. I don't think the 4 conservatives will accept this case and risk the SCOTUS affirming marriage equality, even if it's only limited to California. They don't want to risk that kind of precedent.

So I expect the SCOTUS will pass on this case and just let California have marriage equality back.

Let all the states vote on Gay Marriage propositions then we shall see how the result will influence the decision of the SCOTUS. Praising the prop 8 decision means tearing up the Constitution and playing God over the citizens. THAT'S NOT RIGHT!

more like SCROTUS what a retarded issue. let people marry whomever they want! This is the land of the free right? These issues are a deliberate attempt to divert us from the fact that our liberties are being stolen from us.
