Morales sure didn't care what happened to Terri Winchell and all the pain he caused, but we should care about his pain? My heart goes out to the family of Terri Winchell.

I think he should be beaten to death with a hammer after being choked, sodomized and stabbed four times.

That's too good for him, just put him in the the rest of the prison population and let them deal with him. He will have wished he got the injection.

There is a greiving family that is waiting for justice because their daughter was murdered. Why are we worried about a little twitching from the beast who killed her? The job needs to get done so the survivors, the forgotten victims left behind can het their lives back in order. My deepest condolences to the survivors of this tragedy. Justice will be done. If not in this life, then in the next.

This is the ultimate insult to our justice system and shows the ineptness of the authorities to serve the will of the people. The absurdity of political correctness is amazing. The guy was a rapist murderer. Why not take a jagged instruement barb device and shove it up his rear end and rip it out and let him bleed to death on pay per view? That is basically what he did to his victims so he could watch them.

The judge who has ordered medical doctors to use a lethal injection to execute Mr Morales is a human rights violator judge and a criminal. He should be arrested and convicted for his crimes against humanity in no different a manner than Nazi war criminals were convicted of their crimes. Finally, there may be some hope that California and the United States may become the decent, civilized country it has the potential to be with it becoming clear the people must be granted respect for fighting bad judges.

As for Governor Schwazeneggers support for the execution of Morales,I am sorry to have to make the obeservation that he appears to be insane. It appears he is delusional and feels he is "The Terminator" and is trying to impress the women with his macho killer instincts. This is too bad. How can anyone be certain that any court proceedings and convictions have been proper in the atmosphere of the filth and corruption which exists in the American Justice system. Therefore,in the best interests of regaining a hold on reality and helping to avoid the potential disaster of Scharzenegger as President of the United States the people of California should impeach Governor Schwarzenegger.

It is not that I accept murder as ever being acceptable. My distaste for murder is exactly why I do not support the death penalty.

I think an amendment had been suggested a while ago so that he could run. But his popularity has waned so much that is not likely to resurface.

I don't wish what Morales did on anyone (friend or foe) but if it was your daughter or sister, DUDE you would be singing a different tune all together.
Its difficult to intinidate criminals with the threat of (hmmm) NOTHING. It all falls back on somebody not doing their job. So now we as a country must decide what to do. I don't have the time or money to invest in trying to rehabilitate to nut case. So to make another example of him, its cheaper and you don't have to worry about him either.

NO way. When someone slaughters their victims, they should be killed in kind. I am sorry, but this "kill the man nicely concept" simply does not work for me. I do not care if someone is a medical doctor or not. To me that means nothing if one holds views so counter to the reality of life on Earth. A true just nation would make this gentleman murderer suffer as his made his victims. That is justice.

Skip it, you so-called “doctor.” As I read the article, the judge did not order any specific individual to participate, but simply made the participation of a medical professional mandatory. That means the state has to find a willing practitioner. So what human rights, specifically, have been violated? And what kind of phenomenally skewed sense of proportion compare a judge imposing a legal sentence of death on a brutal felon with a Nazi? You and like-minded anarchists will get exactly as much respect, Mr. Mandel, neither more nor less, as I deem you worthy of.

This is the worst kind of character assassination and is far beneath any educated man. You can’t refute Schwarzenegger’s reasoning, so you attack him personally—how sad. How trite. How jejune. How typically Leftist. You expect us to take you seriously when you spout such mindless drivel? The Governator, at least, is getting things done, while you just sit on a dilapidated soapbox and curse the world.

How do we know you’re not corrupt as well? You sure sound a lot less professional than most government institutions and the judicial system; your language is heavily larded with emotional puke, and your posts fail to reveal even a single fact.(The one fact you attempted to invoke was wrong, as noted above.) Perhaps, given your totally unprofessional and unscientific bent, we ought to revoke your doctorate—assuming you even have one.

We’re not interesting in people who sit on the sidelines and bitch. You are required to offer solutions. Your solution must be: 1) cheaper than death penalty; 2) offer a lower rate of recidivism than the death penalty; and 3) be more just than the death penalty. Financial realities may give you number 1, and philosophers will debate until the end of time about the validity of number 3, but you will never be able to get number 2. So go cry in your fare-trade latte.

I don't know why we should think twice on this murder! better yet, think twice about what pain he may feel. He murdered someone, to death- raped and killed. why should we worry about one minute of his time, where he is feeling some sort of pain. their needs to be justice for the victims family.

seems like the judge needs to hit another coffee cafe break and think about this one!

What do you expect from a Clinton appointee?

What we need to do is make the criminal feel the same pain that his victim felt. And make the criminal's family feel the same pain that criminal made the victims family feel.

THIS would actually be a deterrent.

i'm with nikki and 2nd thoughts on this one. it makes no sense whatsoever to consider what pain if any this dude will feel. he'll be DEAD afterwards... unlike his victim suffering in some roadside ditch with fatal injuries and horrific thoughts as his life's slideshow.

actually, i like that idea... scrap the injection. let's go with an eye for an eye! leave him in a ditch for the buzzards. don't get me wrong, i'm all for ensuring everyone gets a fair and impartial trial. in fact, i say only criminals who confess to premeditated murder (charles manson comes to mind) or are caught red-handed (jeffrey dahmer) should get the death penalty. anyone else (crimes of passion, temporary insanity, etc) gets life w/ no parole...

in this format, execution is practically immediate. no more legal wrangling, you get sentenced and you're dead within a week or two. this would end these debates. lights out...
