Isn't it funny how these wedge issues always pop up in election years? It gives plenty to Rick Santorum to talk about since that's all he talks about. It's just political divide and conquer games that people love to play, and it works.

we shouldn't vote on denying other people their civil rights.

here we go, its legal, then its illegal, legal, illegal. Gay marriage will NEVER be accepted in society. Today's society will accept that someone is gay, but it will never accept marriage between same-sex genders. The word unconstitutional is only a by-word for these judges to get what they want. It sickens me to think that the U.S Gov. will bend over backwards for something so wrong and taboo.
Here we go, it's legal, then it's illegal, legal, illegal. Mixed-race marriage will NEVER be accepted in society. Today's socie-- hang on, I'm getting an update.. I'm hearing now that mixed-race marriages ARE accepted by society now.

WOW.. I guess the lesson is that society will adapt.

The word "UNConstitutional" is the perfect word to describe a group in a society, rife with divorces and extramarital affairs trying to claim the moral high-ground and "define" what they want the word "marriage" to be, when it already has a definition. Two people who choose to enter into a legal and binding contract and share their lives until they are such parted by death.

Your "squeemishness" over it has nothing to do with the law. Grow up.

Looks like the money spent by Mitt Romney on his church tithes was wasted. Seeing as how Mormons funded this campaign to not allow for equal rights.
The Mormons used to not allow blacks to be in the priesthood either. Well until the law hammered down on them.
Ironic that Mormons cry for a non changing institution of marriage, yet once were the major polygamists.
Clearly, there is not rules set in stone on the institution.
I guess Mitt did get a huge tax deduction for the political mission though.

Can pets give consent?

You are wrong. I know you are wrong because; a. I am human; b. I am in favor of human rights as a value and c. my religion does not prohibit gay marriage. Thus, it is not against all human value and religion. Fortunately, in this country, the government may not make laws to force religion on us. The difference between you and me, is I support your rights to be a homophobic, self righteous and intolerant crank but you only support my rights when you agree with them. Unless this statement was from God, you are way out of your pay grade in making these pronouncements. Pride goeth before a fall...

I find it ironic that blacks voted in favor of prop 8.

I wonder if gay people defended their right to marry. Not that long ago, interracial marriage was illegal.
It came off the books in 98 in Georgia.

Blacks who voted for prop 8 were mostly devout Christian.

The same sort of biblical passages that condoned slavery condemns homosexuality.

Clearly the bible is not the go to place for the best word on morality and what is the right thing to do.

Clearly the bible is not how America defines freedom.

Does anyone think god condones worshiping other gods? How un-American is god?

No. Because that would be completely un-Constitutional.

Just as a ban on civil wedding rights for gays is completely un-Constitutional.

Their voices SHOULDN'T matter, beyond picking their reps.

Ballot initiatives are un-Constitutional.

Why do you think there's never been one on a federal level?

Excellent question!

The Federal Government should not be deciding who may or may not be married. It should not provide tax beaks or penalties based on marriage.

I really don't thing being homosexual is right (i'm not homophobic) however i believe that man and woman were created for the penis to go in the vagina and possibly make the woman pregnant, but not for us to put penises in each other asses, because there is generally no point unless you find it enjoyable.

No offence to any gay people out there this is my opinion
