Personal safety is the person's responsibility, not the govt.

Arizona allows anyone to be armed for personal protection. Giffords deliberately refused to arm herself because she wanted to incite an attack to help her justify more antigun laws.

The Gun Free Safe School Zone Act has created gun free slaughter zones where all the good people are forced by law to be unarmed and only the bad people are allowed to be armed. The result is sometimes disastrous.
