So if we are gonna recognize the role religion has played over the years, let us not forget the bible encourages misogyny, slavery, incest, genocide, infantiside and hypocrisy among many other abhorrent behavior! The bible is the last place you should look for moral guidance!! Religion is for the weak minded!!

Don't confuse the Bible with "religion." The Bible is God reaching out to man; religion is man trying to find God.

Obama is just pandering. You know damn well he is an Atheist. Statistically, the more education one has the more likely they are non-religious.

If you can't pray in school, why would you have a national day of prayer? You can not have your cake and eat it to... This Obama's way of getting the sympathy vote....the guy is a muslim...what does he know about our GOD?

Let me think about this. A half hearted appeal to the Supreme Court probably results in the decision standing. End of discussion. I'm betting the BO administration will do a 1/2 hearted appeal.

People who believe in NOTHING will fall for ANYTHING. The election of Obama is solid proof of the dumbing down of America.

Remember that this judge, Barbara Crabb is the same one who allowed the native Americans to net and spear at will before the season. She is a flake.

Good point! The similarities between the fundamentals of christianity and islam are staggering. You should look that up.

The whole idea about the national day of prayer is not to cause others to feel obligated to pray or to feel ostracized, but rather to know that the reason of this day is to set aside a time when others of whom have chosed to exercise their right, and freedom of religion, to pray for this country its people, our government, and the entire world for the hope of a better, and brighter future for generations to come. God Bless.

You're right. I keep paging through it trying to find the right to guaranteed health coverage. Can you tell me what page it's on?

Kudos to Obama for doing the right thing. It's freedom OF religion, not freedom from it. Here's a simple solution for the simpletons. If you're not religious or believe in God. Don't pray. It doesn't effect you at all. Well other than give you something to get your panties in a wad about.
