'Conceal and carry' in Illinois not done deal, as SCOTUS could put on the brakes
The United States Supreme Court on Friday granted the Attorney General of Illinois, Lisa Madigan, a 30-day extension to "file a petition for a writ of certiorari from May 23, 2013 to June 24, 2013" in regards to " conceal and carry " in Illinois.

The many issues being raised, pro and con, on what the Second amendment means must, very soon, be resolved by the SCOTUS. Otherwise, will have a patchwork of state laws on who and where guns may be carried or held by We the People. Widespread confusion on this major right under the Bill of rights cannot be permitted to continue if we are to be a nation of laws that all are required to honor and follow.
The reluctance of the SCOTUS to make a final and all encompassing ruling on the issue of gun rights is a reflection of the liberal mindset of certain members of the Court to deny the rights of We the People to self-determination and freedom of choice that was the objective of the Founders of our great and free nation. Most of all the arguments, presented over the years by the liberal faction of our societ,y to greatly restrict and control gun ownership is indictitive of their belief in huge and intrusive government that controls every aspect of our lives. They must not be allowed to inflect the will of the minority (approx. 21% of our citizenry) over the vast majority of the citizens of the United States of America.
The Second Amendment is proof that the Founders realized the inherent tendency of government to devolve into tyranny and that the pro big government faction would always be pushing for minority rule under an all intrusive government in which these liberals would function as the human element of government. Possession of arms by We the people will act as a preventive measure over government tyranny. As Thomas Jefferson advised us:“When the people fear their government there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty.”
