There is a good chance the 2 Republican appointed judges are going to rule against us and uphold the state bans.

We need to be prepared for that possibility, along with a TON of crowing from the usual anti-gay organizations.

Of course conflicting rulings from the various appeals courts actually HELPS move things forward quicker to the inevitable SCOTUS ruling, even though the anti-gays will of course spin this as the end of "gay marriage".

The sooner these cases get to the SCOTUS better; preferably before Ginsburg dies on us.

"[Lawyers for] Kentucky are arguing that gays shouldn't marry because only opposite-sex couples can procreate and maintain the state's birth rate and economy. The ban, the state argues, ensures the 'existence of the human race.'

"That argument was made by outside counsel hired by Gov. Steve Beshear...."

The sensual lubricant state, KY, has the most "Colbert Report" worthy argument ever.

Martial law is the imposition of military power over designated regions on an emergency basis.

"Across the nation, it is tantamount to martial law on state marriage policies when relatively few federal judges are overturning marriage amendments that millions of people have voted upon and decided," said Kent Ostrander, executive director of Family Foundation of Kentucky, which opposes gay marriage.

(Martial law is the imposition of military power over designated regions on an emergency basis.)

vs.

West Virginia State Board of Education v. Barnette 1943 (SCOTUS Majority Opinion)
"The very purpose of a Bill of Rights was to withdraw certain subjects from the vicissitudes of political controversy, to place them beyond the reach of majorities and officials and to establish them as legal principles to be applied by the courts. One's right to life, liberty, and property, to free speech, a free press, freedom of worship and assembly, and other fundamental rights may not be submitted to vote; they depend on the outcome of no elections.

It's a figure of speech. It's not my problem that you perverts can't read a single sentence without picturing a giant penis in front of it.

So the guy in Alabama used the word appropriately. The federal government will march into Alabama and impose marriage equality at the business end of bayonet equipped M-16 rifles

If only we'd be quieter, more docile, and more willing to waive our civil rights. I'm sure you'd be in our corner then, fighting for our rights to be quiet, docile and disenfranchised. Until then, we'll just have to endure your devastating complaints, somehow.

Hey, if that floats your boat, go for it. Doesn't bother me a bit. I just disagree with the "marriage" aspect of it.

Your need to call people "perverts", twice now, suggests otherwise.

You're engaging in "perverted" behavior. I didn't say I condoned it, I just said it doesn't bother me. If the term "pervert" isn't PC enough for you, oh well.

I'm not questioning the term, only your claim that you aren't bothered. It's not as if the word simply means "different". It has clear negative connotations, and the people who use it are expressing a negative judgment. It's not very convincing for you to say you aren't bothered a bit by people whom you then describe as "bullies shoving their perverted agenda down our throats". Clearly, you're bothered more than a bit.
