I've been getting brand name Diovan 80mg; Walmart is telling me that only Diovan with HCTZ has gone generic. Sounds strange to me. Can you comment?

Unfortunately, that is correct. The reasons for why the generic Diovan hasn't launched are murky at best (e.g. no official word from the FDA or from Ranbaxy). Technically, the 6 month exclusivity doesn't start until the company holding the exclusivity rights (Ranbaxy) actually launches the product. However, since they have yet to launch a generic, I would not be surprised if the FDA finally goes ahead and grants additional approvals in February.

Its obvious the FDA is in bed with someone and does not care about us folks. More big government in action.

So Diovan became eligible to be generic in Sept 2012 and still no company is producing it. Novartis is making billions and Obama's FDA is sitting on their a$$ doing nothing. Who said the dems don't take care of the rich at the expense of the little guy?
