Rat feces in Quaker Oats brand Oatmeal, what else should I do?

This morning I found rat excrement in my Quaker Oats brand oatmeal.

I called Quaker and some supervisor said they were going to pass it on... but how am I supposed to know if they're going to do anything?

I also called my local health dept and they said that if I start to get ill to come in, and they referred me to the dept of agriculture in Nashville, who then referred me to the FDA.

They basically got a lot of info from me but didn't really say that they were going to do anything about it.

I bought the oatmeal from a local Wal-Mart but the package was sealed. I don't put any blame on Wal-Mart.

I was just posting this here to see if anyone had anything similar happen to them and to see if there's any more steps I should be taking... and if my health is at risk. I didn't eat any of it to my knowledge, but it was cooked with the oatmeal that I did eat...

I also took a video and pictures of it:

I have a good friend who is a professor of agriculture, he told me that ALL oatmeal, grains, etc are subject to have some rat feces/poop and some is okay--and the cheaper the brand you buy the higher the chance of more poop.

I always get Quaker for this reason and this is sad because I LOVE oatmeal. I wonder if the natural food markets know of smal oatmeal growers, and if itÂ’s safer for this.

Bummer, I wold worry for sure. We unfortunately consume many lbs of feces and bug carcases, etc

Omg. I found what looked like a piece of mouse poop in my maple and brown sugar Quaker oatmeal this morning. I was hoping I was wrong so I googled right away and your posts confirm it! I threw it away.

I found what looked like mouse poop in my Quaker Peaches and Cream oatmeal. I thought that surely this would not occur n Quaker but who knows where this stuff is packaged.

Found rat dropping in my package of Quaker large flake oats yesterday. Definitely rat and not mouse droppings. Thoroughly disgusted! Has put me off oatmeal now.

Found what appears to be mouse or rat droppings in Quaker Oats Quick 1 Minute. My wife reported it on Quaker (Pepsico) website on March 30, getting an automatic response that a representative will contact us. So far we have heard nothing more.

Yep... Mouse poop in my peaches n cream oatmeal from wal mart, just as this post states. So grossed out- does anyone know of another brand that might not have this problem?

Today, I also found what looks like mouse droppings in my cooked Quaker Quick oats, bought Mar. 2015 from Wal-Mart in Regina, Saskatchewan. I emptied the rest of the bag and could see nothing else that looked like droppings.
