This issue does not seem to be tied to any one maintenance facility or work group, Andrea Huguely, an American spokeswoman, said in the statement. REALLY.... Where is your work done? 2 different groups made the same mistake at the same time. I know it is a contract firm doing the 767 seat mods for the new configuration.... Wow so any questions, will anyone get an honest answer?

With AMR you have to read between the lines of this unscrupulous executive team and corporation. Since they are NOT blaming the AA mechanics and employees outright and in typical form, it means that OUTSOURCING has installed the equipment incorrectly.

YOU notice AMR are focusing on the seats and NOT who does the outsourcing. Any investigative journalists on here.

Safety Problem here???

I think this is where tulaaretired says:"The Unions FORCED this to happen! It is ALL the Unions fault and the horrible employees at AA who are still there! Oh and ANYONE else who is still breathing and working there or TRYING to do such!"

Whoever wrote those statements about foreign or 3rd party MX sabotaging these seats is just plain wrong. I think it's just the line mechs at the line stations doing this because to loosen a seat from the seat rails only takes a 7/16 box end wrench and about 10 minutes. In that time 10 seats can be done by just loosening the front mount bolts at the floor track, 2 each, and there you are! I've installed and tighened enough seats at TULE to clear e-58's and logbook write ups to know. See who sighned off the daily inspection covering the installation and condition of the cabin seats to see which mech at the last station the plane was at who signed off the daily said the seats were OK !

Well, all of the airlines are outsourcing except American. Can you list the accidents as a result of non-US maintenance?

Amazing, AMR is now blaming TIMCO. AMR source them, accepted them, and chose TIMCO over their own people. Exec decision making is what is responsible at AMR. It is jus lucky no one was killed in turbulence.

craft and we can look up the pl anes timco has been working on. They have been doing seat re-pitches in Boston.

RWG,

I would like to see AMR get the FBI into the middle of this problem and determine who/what the culprit really is!

Can you believe that the readers of these posts don't realize that our mechanics wouldn't do such a dastardly thing. Apparently they haven't seen the slashed tires, welded tool boxes, sabotaged equipment, and so on when someone attempts to productively work eight hours a day.

Haven't been seat mounts that use a wrench like that in years. Never seen front mount bolts on a seat and I've installed seats on the 737,747,757,767,777,and A300.
And many seats are Recaro now.

Betsy,

I am AA retired. I take offense to being called an old retired imbecile. Regarding your comment, "you can't fix stupid". If anyone knows about this then you're the bonafide and certified expert.
I speak from experience. You speak from where the sun doesn't shine. Get it?
