My eyes are wide open. There are many thing that can be done and many that are being done. But this bill sucks, and will accomplish nothing but redistribution of wealth.
Our bankers and insurers have already redistributed our wealth far more thoroughly than this bill could ever do. In this case, Americans would actually get jobs, technology, infrastructure, energy independence and a lower trade deficit in the bargain.

You right. It produced an absolute abomination. We did a 180, went the capitalist road. Now we're swimming in riches, and getting better daily, and will never, as long as tales will tell the story, go that way again

Except that business people don't "redistribute" wealth, they create it. W/o them you'd still be in naked in caves, chasing rabbits for dinner

Who are you kidding! It wasn't business people who got civilization out of the caves. It was designers, creators, inventors, blue-collar (back then it was fur-collar) people who got societies up & running. Now, you can add scientists, engineers & technicians

Given societies comprised entirely of business people or the former, business societies would curl up & die.

Fortunately, most societies have a mix of them all. Unfortunately, the business people, who control the money, over-value themselves, & rake off their unfair share.

The crooked financial speculators who just ran off with $4.5 trillion in the United States alone were "creating wealth"? If you believe that, I have some fantastic wealth creation opportunities to discuss with you!

They didn't have warning about drastic climate-change, either. Where are they now ?...
Peabody, thanks for pointing me to the .edu cite, do you think you could find a .uni cite with similar experimental tests? I worry that these experiments area about experimental error, rather than greenhouse effect. Of course, CO2's greenhouse effect is real, experimentally verifiable and part of our climate system.

How much a part? I don't know. I suspect man's CO2 is minor, trivial, perhaps insignificant compared to natural climate variation. I need to call for tests of feedback systems, rather than CO2's greenhouse effect.

Thanks again, for your cite of a .edu web site. Now I need to call for experimental tests of feedback systems.

P.S.

The dinosaurs are birds now, thatís a beautiful improvement. Isnít nature glorious?

John McCain campaigned on climate and higher taxes, President Obama promised not to increase taxes on people making less than $250,000 a year.

President Obama has already increased taxes, maybe there's an ethical difference between the parties.

"Sleep With One Eye Open"

"Sleep With One Eye Open"
(John Kay)
Watch out behind you, down the alley
You hear my foot steps closing in?
Look all around, there ain't nobody
No sign of life, to save your skin
Now you might make it to your door step
But I'll still get you in the end

Lock all the doors, lock all your windows
Bring home your children from the park
I'm in the shadows waiting for you
Yes can't you hear your bull dog bark?
I'm what you fear most in your nightmares
When you lie shakin' in the dark

Sleep with one eye open
And one hand on the gun
In dreams I'm right behind you
As you run and run and run

I am your misbegotten seed
Growing wild outside your gate
I strike at everything you love
With blinding and jealous rage
I'm the unspoken that you hide from
I'm what your children may become

I kill without reason
Without pity or regret
I'll leave you holding nothing
But crushing emptiness
And your walls, they won't hide you
From the haunting and the dread
And your god, he won't find you
As you pray and pray to see me dead

Yeah I might die tomorrow
Might catch a bullet in the brain
You may strap me to the deathbed
And stick the needle in my vein
But by the time you dig my grave
A hundred more will take my place
