Hang on to your pocketbooks folks! Guess who will have to pay at the consumer level for "greenies" who want to "play" in the reality of the real world of commerce.

As much as I asgree with the reduction of pollutants, I also am concerned with historic steam engines that provide not only a ride for tourist locations, but are in fact the last vintage of the growth of commerce in the United States. In particular, the Durango and Silverton and the Cumbres and Toltec railroads in Colorado. These are 1920's models, and changes or replacements in their operation would spell the end of the era.

Does this apply to the coal burning train at Dollywood in Pigeon Forge? That train spews black soot and smoke all over the place. It's killing the Great Smoky Mountain National Park that Dolly Parton claims to love so much!
Dolly Parton should take the lead and make her train stop polluting her home town.

At least one of the trains in Dollywood runs on propane...

I know that the train does not run on propane. I shovel the coal and see the soot and smoke. It is one of the dirtyest things I seen. Riders always complain about being covered with coal soot. They aint complainin about being covered with propane soot!

Dollywoods' train does NOT run on propane. It spews black soot all over the hillsides and passengers, just like the Durango to Silverton train does - I have been on both. They are both relics from another era that need to be retired ASAP.

I will retract my statement, I was thinking of a train in Kings Island.

The Dollywood train is a disgrace. It should be turned into a museum and not allowed to pollute any more.

I understand the Dollywood train is due to begin spewing its toxic smoke and coal dust filled bile into Sevier County again, soon.
I hope the workers don't get sick and have to file OSHA or Workmans comp claims when they get sick from the toxins. I also hope Dolly has deep enough pockets to settle lawsuits from the guests who suffer from the negligence.
