Parting words that speak volumes

"Goodbye from the world's biggest polluter." Those were President Bush's parting words to his fellow leaders as he left a private meeting during the Group of Eight summit in Japan last week.

"He still thinks climate change is a joke. No one else is laughing, though."

Similar to 1972, upper west side New Yorker to a friend, after Nixon trounced McGovern by 49 states:

"I don't know how he got elected, no one I know voted for him.

The reformer editor must share that view.

British policy advisor says Gore is in 'panic' mode...in the end, the world will be laughing at Gore.

British environmental analyst Christopher Monckton says Al Gore's latest attack on global warming skeptics shows the former vice president and other climate alarmists are "panicking."

On Sunday, CBS News correspondent Leslie Stahl asked Al Gore on the television show 60 Minutes what he thinks of people like Vice President Dick Cheney who doubt that global warming is caused by human activity.

"I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they're almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona, and those who believe the earth is flat," replied Gore. "That demeans them a little bit, but it's not that far off."

However, Lord Christopher Monckton, a policy advisor for former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher during the 1980s, says the former vice president can enjoy his "flat earth fantasies" for a few months, but in the end, the world will be laughing at him.

"The alarmists are alarmed, the panic mongers are panicking, the scare mongers are scared; the Gores are gored. Why? Because global warming stopped ten years ago; it hasn't got warmer since 1998,"

It's believed that China is number one polluter in the world, and likely remain that way for the foreseeable future. With that said, it's been a slow transition as China as grown and we have enacted tougher restrictions here at home. I don't think anyone can say we have the mega any polluters like China due to our laws and oversights. China has little to no oversight or EPA type requirements like us. To this end, we have continually met a balance between our public needs and the wishes of the folks that think any emissions is too much. So this isn't a panic but our way of adapting to change with out giving up our way of life. Technology such as clean coal has met the challenge with out cut backs. So the panic is unfounded and clearly doesn't meet the PC crowd goals based on reaction. Instead the Gores of the world should be focusing their efforts on countries without environmental controls rather then micro-managing the USA that has a system that is working.

Funny how you get such a concentration of global warming deniers on this list. Like it's some wild theory, when in reality you can already see the effects almost any direction you turn. Like China's dirty air is any excuse for us not cleaning up our act. This forum is like a museum of old discredited viewpoints. I bet someone pipes up with an insult against the PC enviro-whackos pushing this stupid theory that the globe is round.

I'm a assuming you are a believer? In that case:
So don’t go to China then.
Are our skies still blue? Are rainbows brown yet?
This is the largest forum on global warming on the net and I’d say less than 5or 10% of the posters are believers. When the taxes start, you believers will be the first to line up and deny this aging theory that says humans can change temperatures of planets.
It isn’t about pollution. We deniers want the same thing believers do except we believe we should preserve, not SAVE our environment from a non-existent crisis. This 25 year old theory did not predict that a quarter of a century later we would have the coldest winter in 12 years.
Get ahead of the curve because history will laugh.

Higher sea levels pushing saltwater into coastal farmland;
Arctic ice cap shrunk so much that ships can now get through;
NE timber resources reduced by tree diseases spread by beetles that wouldn't survive our winters in the past;
Rainfall patterns altered over the long term;
Plant and animal species spreading northward because of climate change, pushing out the old ones;
glaciers and snowpacks disappearing at rates faster than during any post-ice age;
etc. etc. etc.

"History will laugh"? History is now. But if your political agenda is rocked by these facts, you'll still find a way to deny them.

Never mind. This forum is not for serious discussion; it's a support group where right-wing extremists can go to cuddle and make each other feel better, away from the harsh real world.

al gore is just trying to get revenge against the middle class for not voting for him

all libtards are is pissed off people who side with warm & fuzzy causes to try and make normal people ( republicans) suffer, most of the time it's by raising taxes in the name of a good cause as they try and claim it's to help a group of victims, like the poor or elderly or victims of not being high IQ as they blow a trillion on attempted education. None of it helps anyone they pretend to be trying to help, but that is not the real reason they back warm & fuzzy crap, the real reason is they want to make normal people suffer threw higher taxes, they hate normal people.

Now nerds like Gore found a new way to try and make normal people suffer by killing them with high energy bills and destroying the economy. Their nerd groupies cheer them on because they are also full of hate towards normal people.

Provide evidence of a cause effect relationship to any of your hysterical statements.

You are the one who is not treating it seriously, by not providing reasoned logic to any of your claims.

There is a reason that the recent drumbeat of 'consensus' has been adopted by the enviro-radicals, there is no definitive science that global warming even exists beyond naturally occuring climate cycles, in which we are currently in a downturn (i.e., cooling over the last few years). If you can't use facts, cite a 'consensus' of people who agree with us => e.g., "all my friends voted for McGovern."

Where are higher sea levels pushing sea water to crop lands?

Where is the passage in the arctic that ships can get trough?

Tree beetles are in fact destroying trees, they have done this before. It is part of a natural cycle to destroy the existing in favor of the new. And yes it is happening because of temperature just as it happened before. Here's a question, how long have the north american forests been here? look it up you will be surprised.

We have no knowledge of how fast the ice pack melted after the four previous ice ages. Remember only 3% of our water is in ice.

Rainfall patterns vary with the climate systems on the earth. Currently we are in a mild period. Our northern hemisphere is closest to the sun in January. This results in milder temperatures in the winter and summer. This changes over a 19,000 to 21,000 year cycle. 5000 years from now we will be closet to the sun in June, winters will be more harsh summers more warm, but in 5000 years we should be back into an ice age.

Population migration of animals and plant life are most often caused by climate. And can be seen in history.

Nothing new going on here.

Q: Why does the extreme right fringe continue to deny climate change, even though the evidence increasingly hits you in the face everywhere you turn?

A: It takes a mighty effort at willful blindness to not see what's happening, but right-extremists are willing to do this for one reason: It was liberals who first talked about global warming. This puts the subject on the permanent no-go list for right-extremists. They'll die before they'll ever admit that Al Gore was right about anything at all. And if the Academy of Film or the Nobel Prize Committee give Gore their highest awards, then these have to be written off as liberal groups. Whenever the press carry stories about some effect of global warming somewhere, then the press also has to be written off as liberal. Even meteorologists are demonized as "liberal forecasters".

It's like the attitude of right-extremists toward cars: They'd rather go bankrupt than drive a fuel-efficient vehicle. Why? Because liberals like to drive them. Right-extremists will therefore make sure they never drive anything that gets more that 15 mpg, if it kills them.

And hopefully it will.

Hey Hater, go emote in your milk. Your emotional drivel is empty and ignorant.

Because you say GW is real and man made, does not make it so. As much as that just makes you want to hurl.

Proving once again that global warming is political. You can take your moral high road of how dare anyone question the science but it still remains that there is wide spread debate on the issue. This aging theory has been making predictions for 25 years. Yes, a quarter of a century of predicting the end of the world. What kind of a fool would wait another 25 years. Agenda driven people would. Global warming is to liberals what WMD's are to neocons.
Let's work together to preserve our environment, instead of trying to save it with fear from a non existent crisis.
Global warming and the theory is dead. The proof is obvious since La Nina is now said to be stronger than all of global warming itself.
It's good news. There is not climate crisis.
Oil is bad for peace so lets work to help progress evolve our future.

if liberals really cared, they would be eliminating the tax breaks for children and welfare for children to discourage having children to reduce the population.

failing to properly feed a child is child abuse, so if somebody can't afford to feed their child on their own, they are abusing their child and the child should be removed from the parents custody and the parent jailed for child abuse. Liberal policies over the last few decades caused the USA population to expand and now they whine there are too many cars on the road, they caused the problem an are so stupid it's unreal.

I'll have alzheimer's before I'd believe any of Algore's drivel.

Just checked out my friend's new Lincoln Navigator. 5.7 liter engine, gets over 10 mpg in town. Great vehicle....and not a single bumper sticker on it.

Once again -- Do you or don't you work for the reformer?

I have to say one thing for 'Elmer Fudd'- at least he picked the right moniker. Given the neanderthal things he writes, I can just see him as a near-sighted, dull-witted gnome stomping around the woods with his muzzle-loader, blasting away at anything he doesn't recognize, usually missing, often hitting himself...
