If Industry says they will lose 2M jobs unless Congress provides funds, then I say Industry is in the wrong business!

The DoD is not in the business of providing jobs. The proper business of DoD is protecting America.

Defense cuts mean a lower national debt! Historically nations that spend excessive amounts on ways to kill people have come to a bad end. Germany is a prime example but unlike the US they have learned their lesson!

I don't think many people outside of the industry realize just how much of these products are sold to other nations. Contractors bid on gov projects, we fund the development to some extent, then the US gov sells the crap out of it. Fighters last 30 years. That's a lot of replacement parts and upgrades weather or not they are ever used in battle. It gives our grads jobs to pay off those student loans, buy cars and houses and put their kids through school. The F-16s and C-130s are cash cows.

It's the product we give away that drains us dry.
