FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF MASSACHUSETTS MARINE CORPS LEAGUE
Please accept our deepest regrets and condolences on the passing of Private First Class Jonathan Roberge. There is a poem written in the Korean War.
It goes like this,
Do not stand by my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush of quiet birds circling in flight.
Do not stand by my grave and cry ...
I am not there. I did not die.
I am a Soldier now and always
protecting and serving our
Supreme Father into infinity.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.

It is so AWESOME to see the community coming together in support and most importantly to HONOR A TRUE HERO.

Anyone who has the time to attend should really make an effort to do so. If you can't make it, light a candle at home and say a prayer with us!

I quote George Doc Fregeau reciting a poem.
"Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal"
The entire poem was beautiful but those closing words make it powerful.
Thank you for sharing those words with us.

GOD BLESS!

It's a big pity that they don't do the decent thing and throw what is left of his body in the nearest sewer.
This would demonstrate to moral folks the way murdering filth, illegally occupying a country never causing them or the US harm should be treated.
I am certain that he would not feel out of place among the other turds and the benefit would be to demonstrate to impressionable young kids why such worthless jerks are despised throughout the civilized world as the scum of the earth.

Why don't you take your mean spirited, sicko attitude out of here. This is our community newspaper,NOT yours. This is this soldiers community and his families. We support our fallen hero and his family.

Again take your hateful ramblings elsewhere, you are NOT welcome here.

If you are so concerned with the impressionable young children of the world, why don't you practice some respect and make an example out of yourself. I don't agree with many things about this war but when Jonathan and every other soldier decided to enlist in the military, they had their loved ones on their mind. They are also defending the peoples right to speak freely whether good or bad. Don't take this for granted unless you are willing to fight for it yourself. Understand that this young man has grieving family and friends who absolutely do not deserve to read such an ignorant comment. Grow up.

Let's do what our friends Pauline and John would do and ignore the bad in this world and concentrate on what good we can do. Our hero Jonathan came from a family of heroes. Pauline and John live their lives to help others. Their "random acts of kindness" are everywhere. Church, school,LHS Band, CTE, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, feeding those in need, offering help with carpentry, giving out tomato plants, giving a hug, words of kindness, and the list goes on.... Most importantly, they have always showed their undying love to Jon, Meg, Sarah and "Spanky". I only wish I could take away their pain. We will all miss you Jon and we will never forget. Peace!

I don't want to give the jerks the time of day by posting about them, but don't you think its funny that they can say crapola when they are behind a computer screen?? Why don't they come out and meet some of us person to person and talk like they do on here??? Its because they are chicken and afraid that the majority would rip them apart. Its not worth our time...
I hope that Jonathans family and all the other brave men and womens families out there are not reading these nasty comments and taking them to heart. I hope they see the jerks for what they are...cowards.

God Bless the men and women of our beautiful country!

This dead grunt was not defending anyone's freedom of speech. Iraq never posed any threat to it or the US in any way. In fact no country ever threatened it. Most civilized countries in the world have more rights than US citizens without invading other countries and murdering innocent people.
The grieving family need to accept the truth: that they raised a killer to murder other human beings. Had they bothered teaching him right from wrong, he might still be around. His parents should be down on their knees in shame, begging forgiveness from God and his friends for their abject failure.
Why is the truth so hard for you to accept?

Hmmm...We'll keep that in mind the next time the invaders are on your doorstep. Your IP lists from the UK. If I remember right, we kept you folks from speaking German twice last century. But then I suspect that's ancient history to a jerk like you.

Lets not give the ignorant troll anymore attention, he already got what he wanted and that was a response. Out of respect for Jonathan and his family just ignore his ignorant banter.

SHAME ON YOU! How dare you come in here and try to preach to us about your idealisms and wretched beliefs and then tell us it is the truth?

It is your truth. Your disgusting belief.
THAT DOES NOT MAKE IT OURS AND CERTAINLY DOES NOT JUSTIFY ANYTHING YOU HAVE SAID.

Do you know what respect is? Obviously not! Perhaps I can help you with this.

RESPECT
Esteem for or a sense of the worth or excellence of a person, a personal quality or ability, or something considered as a manifestation of a personal quality or ability.

To show regard or consideration for: to respect someone's rights.

To refrain from intruding upon or interfering with: to respect a person's privacy.

LET’S try another word shall we.

HERO
A person of distinguished courage or ability, admired for their brave deeds and noble qualities.
A person who, in the opinion of others, has heroic qualities or has performed a heroic act and is regarded as a role model or ideal.

Every Soldier Everywhere is a HERO.
A Person of Courage, Honor, Valor, Conviction, Bravery beyond belief, is defending me, you, and all of us.

You have a very negative way of thinking. So from there I can and will safely assume you are a very miserable person, living a miserable life, sitting at a keyboard, insulting people, all to make yourself feel better and get a rush from doing it.
You are very ill!

And by the way, because of these Soldiers around the world, you get to live in your misery. It is your freedom to do so. Ever think of that?

GET SOME HELP! Life is worth living and it does not have to be miserable and lonely.

I understand your point, but really felt the need to respond to the troll out of RESPECT to Jonathan and his family.

Please do not take offense.
