damn! the white house wrote the screen play!
From the first reports I thought it was inappropriate for the press releases to announce that the raid had picked up several computers and hard drives.

--The assault force of Navy SEALs snatched a trove of computer drives and disks during their weekend raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, yielding what a U.S. official called “the mother lode of intelligence.”

Seems to me that even mentioning the acquisition of "intelligence" would tip-off bin Laden's allies to start their own 'intelligence' review to determine what bin Laden had, and how to counter that info should it become public.

That info had to come from the White House... or Defense Department.

Why reveal it before any 'intelligence' had been gleaned? Why give bin Laden's allies the 'heads up'? Would it not have been more effective to keep them in the dark about it, having them wonder IF the US had picked them up at all?
