While "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" may have been successfully repealed over a year ago, the Pentagon has been dragging its combat boots when it comes to repealing its ban on LGBT sites.

The headline is in the present tense: "Pentagon bans ..." When did they impose this supposed 'ban'? In the last few days? That's certainly what is implied. If it is indeed so, yes, then it is newsworthy.

But that's not the impression I get when reading the article. Rather, it seems to be a case of a filter that has been in place since long before the demise of DODT, but which the Pentagon has subsequently failed to lift. Once again, deliberately trying to elevate something to the level of a grievous injury, when it is more likely a case of negligence, nothing more.

If I'm wrong, I stand corrected, but then a more detailed explanation should have been forthcoming of exactly when this 'ban' was imposed, and exactly when the Pentagon explained their motives and to whom. That would be honest journalism.
