It's hard to believe that this type of discrimination is allowed against hard-working students just because of where they went to school. If the military refuses to change this arbitrary policy, Congress needs to step in and take action.

I agree with this. Show me the RIGOR that these cyber school kids went through to get credits, show me the socialization they learned while sitting in front of a computer screen.

We're not interested in robots who can regurgitate facts. We want people who can debate with each other, i.e. interact. Can't do much debating with a screen.

You don't want robots? You can't have a voice in the military so I am not sure where you are coming from. Soldiers are basically robots. I would think that with only 1% of the population joining the military that they wouldn't be so picky. If he wants to fight for our country, bless him and let him do it.

I spent 5 years in the military, and you have no idea what you are talking about. We are not robots, we defend those of you who think like robots, and go about your lives never have given to a greater cause than yourselves. Don't think for one second that you have the right to speak for us.

I'm sorry but I fully agree with this policy. I have a son in the Navy and another possibly joining the Marines. I've known quite a few people who's kids have or are doing cyber school. It does not compare to a brick and mortar school. There are more and more parents who the minute little Johnny or Susie comes home and says "I don't like my school. I don't like my freinds or teachers" They immediately feel sorry for them and put them in cyber school. These same kids are done their studies in a few hours every day and then are free to play video games the rest. I'm sorry but that is not the same education the kids who go to a brick and mortar school receive. Ans as far as the comment about our country's soldiers being robots, that's a sad, narrowminded statement from someone who apparently has no contact with or knowledge of alot of our men and women in uniform. And yes only 1% of the population enlists but that's because that's all that is needed to meet recruitment. Right now none of the branches are hurting for possible candidates, more soldiers are staying in due to the economy and our needs have gone down due to pull-out of Iraq.

since when do you have to be schooled a certain way, to be able to serve your country proudly. and why do you have to be so smart to die.(sadly).

I can understand that the military is looking for grads that have socialization skills. I wonder if the military takes into consideration extra curricular sports, clubs, interest groups, etc., which would provide experience in working with others toward a common goal.
