There are 29 comments on the ABC News story from Mar 2, 2013, titled 57 Consequences of the Sequester. In it, ABC News reports that:

If the heads of 20 federal agencies are to be believed, disastrous consequences await if President Obama and Congress fail to reach a budget deal, triggering the automatic, across-the-board cuts known as "sequestration." Those cuts are slated to begin March 1, and earlier this month, the Senate Appropriations Committee asked agency heads to explain ... (more)

Key words: "If the heads of 20 federal agencies are to be believed"

If this is the case the current administration needs to be investigated for possible impeachments.

To threaten and jeopardize the safety of American citizens simply to make republicans look bad for the 2014 midterm elections is reprehensible and borders on treason.

The first thing we need to do is cut critical services like police and fire. We need to leave the fat and crony jobs for when things get really tough. If you cut those jobs now, nobody would notice and they might want even less spending. Not good. Obama knows he can spend his way out of this debt crisis, we just have to trust him.

I'd be for all the fat and crony jobs being privatized, it would save the taxpayers a bundle. And it's obvious the government has everything under control here - right?

Never happen! To impeach themselves would be too much work for them. It would cut into their Blowharding faux pravada appearence time. And the time they spend on our dime doing insider trading. Whoever voted them into office got it in the shorts bigtime. If you had employees like that you would have gone broke years before you even started your business.

We can start with the US Merit Systems Protection Board, the Federal Citizen Information Center and the way it's going, the ATF.

Still can't understand the Republican concern
about the so-called sequester.

So it shuts down part of the government.
Big deal!

Shutting down the government has been a
Republican aim for decades.

Starve the beast?
Government is the problem and not the solution?
Reduce government to the size where it can
be drowned in a bathtub?

The government is broke! But, aha! Uncle Sam can just print up more money and leave the debt to our children and grandchildren. What business can do that?

Same old same old, everybody wants to reduce the national debt, UNLESS, it affects them. The truth is that the federal government could reduce spending by 20% by reducing the fraud and unnecessary spending that is currently done. The middle class is sick and tired, sick and tired of supporting multiple generations of entitlement dependents. We are sick and tired of spending 12,000 a month for health insurance that has 2,000 deduct built in while welfare people get full coverage for no charge. We have made it too comfortable to be poor and thus we have removed the burning desire to do better for a very large percentage of people. Am I for the sequester? Well obama brought it up and the Republicans called his bluff. I am sure that if it works obama will take the credit for it.
