A handful of former Republican policymakers and some conservative think tanks have also touted its potential to raise revenue for a cash-strapped federal budget.
Well its all about aqnother way to collect tax money.
The NAM report said a tax of $20 per ton of carbon dioxide emissions could cut energy-intensive manufacturing output by as much as 15 percent by 2053, based on a study conducted by NERA Economic Consulting.
Will NAM stop modern tech. from doing the same?

In other news, Right Wing Republicans have decides to call themselves 'job creators' while at the same time extolling the jobs of 'firing people' and promoting 'downsizing', 'rightsizing', permatemps, and other forms of 'reducing labor costs by eliminating workers'. The success of this diversionary tactic is questionable, as is their claims of damage from a carbon tax.
