Open Question for the Thread:
Please identify what U.S. President(s) since 1901 had better achievement in terms of economics during the first 45 months of their first term than the present administration. Please cite the multiple metrics that support your conclusion. Thank you.

No wonder Terri Tunna hates Ronald Reagan !
The timing was thus significant when, one night in 1946, F.B.I. agents dropped by his [Ronald Reagan's] house overlooking Sunset Boulevard and told him that Communists were infiltrating a liberal group he was involved in. He soon had a new purpose; as he wrote,“I must confess they opened my eyes to a good many things.”
The newly released files flesh out what Reagan only hinted at. They show that he began to report secretly to the F.B.I. about people whom he suspected of Communist activity, some on the scantiest of evidence. And they reveal that during his tenure as president of the Screen Actors Guild in the ’40s and ’50s, F.B.I. agents had access to guild records on dozens of actors. As one F.B.I. official wrote in a memo, Reagan “in every instance has been cooperative.”
I like to remember Ronald Reagan fondly, Rogue Moron.

Instead of focusing on Reagan tripling the national debt, I like to think of his charisma.

When I think that Reagan supported apartheid, I put that out of my mind and just think of amazing personability.

So what Reagan backed Saddam Hussein, he made us feel good about being American!

Who cares that Reagan crushed workers rights, he seemed like the type you'd want to sit down and have a beer with.

When I think of Reagan's failed Star Wars fantasy and the great expense it incurred to no avail, I instead think of Reagan's INFECTIOUS OPTIMISM!

So what that Reagan backed death squads in Central America, he always looked for the best in everyone, ya know?

We can forgive Reagan for looking the other way when Salvadorian allies raped American nuns be cause he had such a self-deprecating style of humor.

When Reagan confused old movies with foreign policy, that can be overlooked because he was so quick with a joke.

And the fact that Reagan traded arms for hostages and sent money to drug smuggling death squads is totally overshadowed by his sunny disposition.

Now, if an ordinary bloke like me wrote "set precedence" instead of "set a precedent", I would be forgiven, as what do I know about law and correct English? But, coming from a Justice, well, I can imagine, one of his rulings : "Let the plaintiff know that he has set precedence".????????

Mitt Romney puts Big Bird in social media spotlight
SEATTLE, Washington -- The presidential debate over Main Street and Wall Street shifts to Sesame Street.
In Wednesday night’s televised debate, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said he will cut funding for public broadcasting, if elected.
“I like Big Bird,” Romney said,“but I’m not going to keep spending money that we have to borrow from China to pay for it.”
The government spends about 1/100th of a percent of its total budget on public television and radio. That's about $1.35 per person, per year.

It's sad that cutting funding for PBS is the only thing Romney can be specific about.

Any growth in the US economy during Obama's one and only term has been in spite of Obama's policies, Not because of Obama's policies.

When Ronnie was in radio in Iowa, he broadcast the Cubs games -- not from the ballpark but from a teletype machine. When the machine malfunctioned, he didn't hesitate, he just made stuff up about what was happening.
Unfortunately, he did the same thing while overseeing the greatest economic calamity of the second half of the 20th Century. Not surprising at all. He was a practiced liar (see above anecdote) and the most intellectually ignorant and least educated president in the history of this great nation.

Good points...

Raygunz also fired all the California State Mental Health workers and let the crazies out. WOW....we got thousands of instant homeless people and they're crazy to boot.

Raygunz also wanted to cut down all the redwood trees....let's see what did he say? "If you've seen one redwood, you've seen them all".

Raygunz also wanted to sell Mineral King and Yosemite to Disneyland.

Oh, he took credit for the fall of the USSR and those nasty commies......something that was well on it's way.

...and ignoring AIDS......he just couldn't understand it.....probably comes with his dementia.

Hmmm, if you're a low-knowledge voter I think you can say Romney won in terms of performance, but I'm into the substantive considerations of the campaigns.
